"Hey, Zed!" Impulse waved at Zedaph from on top of his glass dome, meaning Zedaph had to look up to see him. He started laughing when he saw Impulse just lying on top, waving at him comically. Impulse broke the glass beneath him, gliding in and landing next to Zedaph's chicken farm.

"Hello! My friend!" Zedaph greeted, making Impulse laugh. "Have you come round to check out my awesome contraptions?" He joked, throwing an egg into the farm, a baby chicken popping out.

"I thought chickens were Gri- I mean poultry man's thing?" Impulse noted, remembering the whole HCBBS thing.

"Oh they are, he made it not that long ago," Zedaph laughed, throwing an egg at Impulse and instantly starting an egg war. Impulse grabbed a stack and began lobbing them at Zedaph one after another, Impulse eventually bursting into laughter and ceasing to fire.

"Hey, talking of chickens, I've made a really cool chicken farm I want to show you!" Impulse said excitedly, tugging on Zedaph's sleeve. He pulled him a few hundred blocks to a complex Redstone contraption, made up of an assortment of dispensers, comparators, hoppers, slime blocks and pistons.

"How does this work, like, in terms of the technical stuff?" Zed inquired, glancing around at the redstone.

"So basically when it detects the entity cram limit has been hit, it sends the chickens down a water stream, and boom, slime blocks, elevators, chickens go everywhere. They then get killed by fall damage," Impulse explained, laughing as he clicked a button.

"The observers are smooching!" Zedaph explained, watching the chickens pile in as the water got released. The pistons worked, sending them falling down onto a certain diamond block, one Zedaph immediately ran up to and glanced up at the mechanisms, then back at Impulse.

"See how it works?"

"Yeah, chickens go boom!"

Zedaph laughed at Impulse's comment, not noticing the arrow that was richoceting off multiple slime blocks, Impulse's mind on autopilot as he raced towards Zedaph, his first instinct to get his friend out of the way. Zedaph's eyes widened, his arm scraping against the floor as he rolled, the arrow flying into Impulse's chest. It had a dark red glistening liquid on it, spilling outwards onto Impulse's chest.

"Impulse!" Zedaph shouted, clambering up and racing over to Impulse, his gaze flickering all over the arrow wound. He held his hand down on Impulse's chest, pulling the arrow out and throwing it a few metres away, reaching for his neck to check for a pulse. He could feel it, but it was weak and growing weaker by the second.

"Nononono, come on Impulse, stay with me here. I'm not losing you today, it's gonna be okay, someone will be here soon to help, just stay with me here," Zedaph said desperately, pulling Impulse up and supporting his back as Impulse let out a weak smile.

"H-Hey Zed, it's gonna b-be alright. It'll be f-fine, j-just you see," Impulse stuttered, his tone as calm as he could make it through the pain.

"I- I can't Impulse. I can't lose you as well as Tango," Zedaph whispered, mopping up the blood with Impulse's shirt as best as he could.

"Shush, don't worry, you're not losing me," Impulse comforted, a tear slipping down his face. "I'm right here, don't you worry."

"We'll probably laugh about this in a few years, think how silly we were," Zedaph joked, trying to act strong, trying to use humour as a cover like he so often did. "Of course you didn't die, of course Tango respawned. It's the way ZIT works, we will never be broken up." Impulse smiled, using his remaining energy to push himself into a hug with Zedaph, trying to comfort the small man.

"I'll- always be here- Zed," Impulse told him, his mind overcome with blackness. "Don't you dare- forget that." His body went limp, his heartbeat finally grinding to a halt, Zedaph simply clinging tightly to the dead body, tears running freely down his face onto the corpse's shoulder, Zedaph just rocking back and forth, hoping that by some miracle it was some form of nightmare, that it was all a misunderstanding. His communicator buzzed, but Zedaph already knew what it said.
