I hated that because of Jason and me breaking up there was a whole rift in the group. If Jason was coming to hang out, I wouldn't, if I was going, he wouldn't. It caused some awkward situations.
Right now I was hanging out with Jaime, Seth, and Seth's new 'friend'. I call them friends because I don't know if they were official or not.
Izzy was basically the female version of Seth but just more. She was latina just like him. She talked shit and made jokes, like he did. She was louder than him, but we all loved it. She was even more of a stoner than he was. She could skateboard like him and do some pretty cool tricks.
Izzy was pretty. Very pretty. She wasn't new to the school but she generally ran in different circles than this group or my old friends. She had curly hair that was long and dark, she often would put small braids in it with gold clips to accent them. She wore cropped tops and low waisted sweats that would show her belly button off. Her nails were usually long and vibrant.
We've only hung out with her a couple times but I could tell Seth was falling for her. Callie was at Jason's house but it worked out nicely because it was an even group of four at the pool shed.
"So did you end up accepting that UCLA spot?" Jaime asks, casually.
I nod, "Yeah I did it that day I went home from hanging out with you guys." I explain.
Her grin grows as she turns to me. She swings her legs from where they were hanging over the edge of the pool and crosses them so her whole body's facing me. "Me and Callie found this really cute house for rent near CIU. The only problem is it's a three bedroom. Me and her would only take up one so we were looking for roommates..." She trails, looking at me suggestively.
"Are you asking me to be one of them?" I ask excitedly. She nods eagerly, mirroring my grin, "Then yeah, fuck yeah!" I half yell as she throws her arms around me excitedly.
"I was hoping you'd say that!" She says, loudly.
"There are three at most!" Izzy yelled loudly, stepping off her board.
Seth rolls his eyes, accepting the challenge, "I can think of like seven at least." He calls back.
"That's a load of shit." She comments.
"What are you guys even talking about?" I question, an amused look on my face.
They both walk over to me and Jaime, Izzy: abandoning her skateboard and Seth: clinging his to his side tightly like it was his child. "There are three stages to falling for someone. One, attraction. Two, crush. Three, in love." She tells us, acting like its some type of sales pitch.
Seth glares at her, "She's got it all fucked up. It goes like this. One, attraction. Two, crush. Three, likingment-" He gets cut off by Izzy.
"First of all having a crush on someone and liking them is the same thing, and second that's not even a word." She calls him out.
He points a finger at her, "Don't interrupt my list." He tells her, jokingly serious, "Three, likingment. Four, kissing. Five, sex. Six, love. Seven, in love." He says.
"There are so many things wrong with that list." Izzy tells him, as me and Jaime laugh very amused.
"God, I'm so attracted to you right now." Seth tells her, his angry tone still present.
She rolls her eyes, "You're not getting any action till you tell me I'm right." She says, a wicked smile playing on her lips.
Seth grinds his teeth. He's stubborn, very stubborn. "Fuck." He breaths, throwing his arms in the air, clearly stressed out from the dilemma. "Oh my god you're evil." He claims after a moment, glaring at her.
"Well?" She asks, smiling innocently at him, as she bites her lip.
"Oh my god, fine you're right." He half yells, angry at the loss of control.
Izzy walks back to her board proudly. As Seth turns to us, shaking his head and mouth 'no' before running off to her.
After me and Jaime stop laughing and asks a question, "You going to the party at Jessica Day's this Saturday?" She asks me.
I shrug, "I don't know."
"We haven't gone to a party together yet so you better be." She teases.
I roll my eyes, reluctantly agreeing.
---
"No going back after this." Callie tells me once again, holding the purple dye in her gloved hand.
I nod my head, "Do it, just do it." She complies, slapping the dye on my head and starting to work it into my hair, "Do you think this is a mistake?" I ask, looking at her face in the bathroom mirror.
She looks at me with wide eyes, her hand slowing to a stop, "Oh my god you have the worst timing ever." She complains, before moving her hands again, "It'll look great, plus it will wash out like next month and no permanent damage will be done." She tells me.
"So the party's tomorrow..." I say, trying to make small talk.
Callie nods, "You know Jason's going right?" She asks.
It's my turn to nod, "Yeah I know, but it's a big party, we probably won't even see each other." I tell her, half trying to convince her and half trying to convince myself.
"Right." She assures, "But if you do what'll you say?"
I shrug, "I have no fucking idea." I mutter.
