Shivani

After the reception party it was time to say goodbye to my sweetest family. It was very hard for me and my parents to say goodbye. In our family we were only three, we shared our day what we did at evening time while having snacks with tea and I was their only child. They give me the exact life what I wanted, not a point less than that. Always number one priority. Never gave me a chance to complain. They did great as a parent. I’ll be grateful for that and will love them for forever.

My MIL and FIL welcomed me to their beautiful home. And Nikhil was like I just married you for the sake of my family. Don’t expect anything from me. His one gaze is enough to read his mind.

As Nikhil planned, we’ve the flight the very next day of our wedding. Yes, we really have. I didn’t even have the time to mingle with in laws. He is really cruel. Mom and dad came to the airport to bid adieu to us.

The plane ride was silent. Nikhil only asked what I would eat when the food trolley came. I just had coffee. Other than that, he gave me cold shoulder for the whole trip.

After we landed in Dubai international airport Nikhil booked a taxi on uber. It only took 10 minutes to reach his apartment which is in Bur Dubai. Yeah, most Indian people lives here.

The feeling when he told me his flat is only one-bedroom apartment. I don't know if I'm ready to share a bed with my newlywed husband. Normally people eager to have their own time to spend with each other but ours is different.

I think he's also thinking the same because he doesn't look like a desperate to sleep with me.

Nikhil ordered dinner for us. After having dinner, I changed to my night suit. He also got change. Now the dilemma time, who will sleep where?

Couch is a good option but I never in my life sleep on a couch. If I do, I'll surely end up on the floor.

Ahh! This is so confusing. Where should I sleep?

"We have no option other than sleep on the bed because I have only one bed. I could sleep on the couch like a gentleman but because of the marriage functions, our journey and all I'm exhausted. And I have to go to office tomorrow. So, I want to sleep in peace and comfortably on the bed. I hope you can understand this."

"Yeah! the bed is big enough for two people."

"Ok, it's all sort then. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

I woke up early, took a shower and get ready in a sun dress. It's better because I'm not in India if I were in India, I had to wear Saree or salwar.
Nikhil is still sleeping peacefully on the right side of the bed.

I went to the kitchen and look into the fridge what I have to make breakfast for us. Only eggs and oranges are there with some beer cans. What I'm going to do with this? That's reminds me he has office today.

"Uhm... I normally eat breakfast and lunch outside so I think there is nothing in the fridge."

"Only eggs, oranges and beer." I couldn’t expect more from a bachelor, now a married man.

"I'm going to order breakfast, what will you have?" he asked me scratching the back of his neck.

"Sandwich will be fine. Besides we have oranges I'll prepare juice for us."

"Sounds good. I'll order your lunch at lunch time. I'll do grocery shopping on my way back. Do you need anything for you?"

"Sim. I need a sim card." He went to room and shortly come back.

"This is my extra sim. You can use it." He said handing me the card.

"Thank you."

“You won’t be scared to stay alone right?” I asked her before going to office. I don’t have other option than leaving her alone in my apartment. I know she’s not a child but she can be scared to live alone, right? Or I’m thinking too much or caring too much about her?

“I won’t.” even she said she won’t, I think she would. After all it’s a new place not her home.

“okay then I’m going if you need anything call me. Bye” she nodded.

“Bye, have a nice day.”

I left for my office.

Even I didn’t want to get married, I’m a married man now. And I have responsibilities. I promised to her parent that I’ll take care of her like they did and I won’t break my promise at any cost. She is my responsibility now.

My unwanted responsibility. Thinking of her innocent face annoyed me. Believe me I wanted to make my parent regret by torturing her. But I can’t torture her for that. It would be unfair to her. I’m a human being not an animal.

I can’t show my arrogant side to her. She doesn’t deserve that. I’m trying to stay calm as much as I can.

I hate when she woke up today early to make breakfast for me, behaving like perfect wife. I know she is my wife so she can behave but I don’t like it.

“Hey Nick...hil, how was your vacation in India?” one of my colleagues asked me. Let me tell you, I hate how he pronounce of my name.

“Great.” I went as a bachelor and return as a married man. Is not it great?

“I heard you took a long leave?”

“Yeah! I did but something came up so I came early.”

“Oh! Everything’s good?”

“Better than I expected. I got married.” Showing my ring to him. I didn’t find any reason to hide my current status.

“Congratulations! Very happy for you!” he is quite surprise.

“Thank you.”

“Indian?” I know the reason behind it. They knew my relationship with Aleia.

“Yes.”

Eventually everyone in the office got to know about my marriage and congratulates me. Though my CEO is happy hearing about my marriage, he isn’t happy that I have joined the office earlier. According to him I need to go to honeymoon with my wife. But how can we go on a honeymoon when we had an arranged marriage? When we’re in the phase of get to know each other? It would be awkward rather than romantic.

That’s the reason I came early to Dubai or mom and dad would force us to go on a honeymoon.
