One Of Them

Journey To Haven

Y/N POV

I silently crawl through some thicket in the form of a Sabyr looking for the target. I push past a bush and see the Petra Gigas resting in a clearing. I turn into a Manticore then launch fireballs at it. It stands up and starts chasing after me. I fly over a cliff and watch as the Petra Gigas falls and lands near the others. 

I land and turn into my Juggernaut form. The Petra Gigas swings its stone arm which I catch. Ren runs up the pinned arm and scratches the Geist's mask. The Petra Gigas slams its other arm into my ribs and sends me away. 

Ruby fires a lightning round which coats the arm that punched me. The Petra Gigas slams its lightning coated farm into the ground and launches everyone backwards. Nora swings her hammer and manages to break the Petra Gigas' left arm apart.

The Petra Gigas makes a shadow arm and sticks it through a tree then rips it out of the ground gaining a new arm. It swings its arm at me which I dodge. Ruby fires a combustion round and makes the tree arm catch fire. It brings it down on Jaune but I run to him and catch its arm. I then pull its arm which allows Ruby to swing her scythe and sever its arm. 

I punch the Petra Gigas then hold it back. Nora is picked up by Ruby then dropped. Nora activates her hammer upgrade and smashes the Petra Gigas to pieces. The Geist flies out of the rock to escape but is shot down by Ruby.

Mayor: "Thank you very much for your service."

Ruby: "Just doing what's right."

Mayor: "That Geist has been the biggest problem for us. We were starting to fear we would have to leave."

Ruby: "There's plenty of room for you to join us on our journey to Haven."

Mayor: "That's very kind of you but I'll have to decline. The road there will be perilous and I fear my people won't be able to make that journey. I just wish there was more we could pay you."

Ren: "Our previous agreement is more than enough."

We all bow and take our leave out of the town.

Ruby: "Okay next town is... hold on... okay we're lost."

Jaune: "No we're not. The next town is Shion. My family used to take me there all the time."

Y/N: "What exactly did you do while there?"

Jaune: "Lots of stuff. We went on many of the hiking trails and even camped out. I got my own tent because I was special."

Y/N: "In what way?"

Ruby: "Why?"

Jaune: "So my sisters would quit braiding my hair."

Nora: "Wasn't a fan of the look?"

Jaune: "They just kept giving me pigtails. But I think a warrior's wolf tail suits my style best."

Y/N: "That's still just a ponytail."

Nora: "Guys?"

We look forward and see the town of Shion being nothing more than a desolate ruin. We run forward and see it's far worse up close.

Ren: "Over there!"

We look and run to a man slumped against a piece of rubble. 

Y/N: "What happened here?"

Man: "Bandit tribe... then with the panic they caused..."

Ren: "Grimm."

Man: "Yeah."

Ruby: "Alright, if we act now then maybe we can get him to the next village and save him."

Jaune: "Ren, Y/N and I can take turns carrying him."

Nora: "I don't know if he'll make it."

Jaune: "He will, he has to."

Y/N: "Guys, he's gone."

I feel sadness fill them while I close his eyes.

Nora: "Should we bury him?"

Ren: "Let's just push on. It's not safe here."

We walk away and set up camp in the woods. I sit on a tree stump staring up at the moon when I hear that woman's scream again. I shake my head when I hear her again but this time she speaks.

Woman: "It's me Y/N."

I get up and decide to just go out and hunt to take my mind off whoever this woman in my head is.

A/N: This is it for this chapter. Who do you think the woman in Y/N's head is? Plus I have a very special surprise for this story but it won't happen until later.
