One Of Them

Memories Pt 1

*flashback 3rd POV*

Inside a room in the great castle of Salem lays a circle with strange symbols inside it and lit candles around it. Panning left Salem herself can be seen walking towards the circle. She gets on her knees then bows; this causes black smoke to spiral into existence before forming into an all black creature with fully yellow eyes.  

Salem sits up and looks to the left as an Alpha Beowolf walks to them and places a blanketed object in front of Salem. She undoes the blanket to display an infant boy sleeping peacefully. The yellow eyed creature lifts its arm and gently taps the boy's forehead before disappearing.

The boy whimpers before crying as loud as he can. His crying ceases and he lets out a guttural growl before bursting into an infant sized Beowolf. The infant Beowolf lunges at Salem who catches it, stands up and makes her crimson eyes shine. 

The transformative Beowolf quickly cowers and lowers his head before turning back into the baby. He lets out a yawn and falls asleep. Salem cradles the boy like a mother and walks away while smiling.

*small timeskip Boy POV*

I stare down my opponent and slightly sigh.

Boy: "Well Leroy, looks like this is the end. You were a good friend but your crimes must be answered for." 

I look slightly right and see the time hit noon.

Boy: "You've yeed your last haw partner!"

I draw my gun and fire a stick dart into Leroy's left eye. I do an epic gun twirl when the door to my room opens and Salem walks through. I run to her when she looks at my stuffed bear Leroy then back at me smiling.

Salem: "Playing western again?"

Boy: "Yep and I just beat the dreaded red eyed Leroy."

Salem: "I was wondering when he was going to be dealt with."

Boy: "Hey mom?"

Salem: "Yes sweetie?"

Boy: "When can I leave the castle?"

Salem: "Hmmm?"

Boy: "It's just I'm always playing in my room and around the castle. I'm starting to wonder what's outside the castle."

Salem: "You wish to explore the outside world?"

Boy: "Yes."

Mom places her hand on her chin before hmmming. She takes her hand away and smiles.

Salem: "Alright, I shall allow you to leave the castle, but you are only allowed to visit the nearest town."

I walk down the vast streets and smile at all the new sights and smells. I look right and see a girl around my age get pushed to the ground by three boys who are also around my age. I hmph and go help the girl.

Boy: "I want you to apologize or else."

Lead bully: "Or else what?"

Boy: "I'll use my ultimate technique."

He laughs while I smile and begin waving my arms around. He falls for it and gets confused. I then lower my arms and kick him in the place that always hurts to get hit in. He cries and begins running away with his goons.

Boy: "You okay?"

Girl: "Yes, thank you."

I help the girl up and immediately find her appearance pretty. But one thing stands out the most.

Boy: "You're eyes, they're silver."

Girl: "Yeah, I was born with them. They're actually the reason they were bullying me. They think they make me look weird."

Y/N: "Well they're wrong." *sticks hand out* "I'm Y/N L/N by the way."

Scarlet: *shakes hand* "I'm Scarlet Evergreen."

Suddenly her stomach rumbles which makes her go red faced.

Y/N: "Come on, I know where we can get some food."

I rely on my keen nose and am led to a meat stand. I wait until the owner's not looking then steal two kabobs. I hand Scarlet hers and her eyes light up on the first bite.

Scarlet: "It's so delicious, how can I ever repay you?"

Y/N: "I'm kinda new here, mind showing me around?"

Scarlet: "Not at all."

She grabs my hand and leads me all around town with us stopping on a hill just outside the city at sunset.

Y/N: "I had a lot of fun today Scarlet."

Scarlet: "Me too. I'm just sad it has to end today."

Y/N: "How about I come back tomorrow so we can play some more?"

Scarlet: "You mean it?"

I get serious and do the most sacred of thing by holding out my pinky. Scarlet gasps seeing how serious I am. She matches my seriousness and does the unbreakable oath of a pinky swear.

Scarlet: "You must never break this promise."

Y/N: "I won't. See you tomorrow Scarlet."

She smiles before having her cheeks turn red like her hair. She then scoots closer and pecks my cheek.

Scarlet: "Thank you, thank you for being so nice to me."

She walks away leaving me to grab my kissed cheek and walk back home with the biggest smile on my face. This smile doesn't go unnoticed by mom.

Salem: "You seem awfully happy."

Y/N: "Yeah, I met someone today."

Salem: "Really? Tell me about them."

Y/N: "Well she's a girl and she's really pretty."

Salem: *smiles* "What about her is pretty?"

Y/N: "Everything form her red hair to her freckles. But the thing that I think makes her the most pretty are her eyes."

Salem: "What's so special about her eyes?"

Y/N: "They're not like any I've ever seen, they're silver."

Mom freezes which makes me slightly scared. She then quickly returns to normal and goes back to eating.

Salem: "You are to never see this girl again."

Y/N: "B-but why?"

Salem: "Because I said so."

Y/N: "I promised to see her tomorrow. I even pinky swore."

Salem: "Then it looks like you'll have to break that promise."

I lean back in my seat and just poke my food. I then silently sigh fearing I'll never get to see Scarlet ever again.
