A Terrifying Letter

"Now if I had told you, wouldn't been much if a surprise, would it?" James grinned,

"that isn't the point!" Clara snapped, then laughed.

"Guys, I need to go home." Remus looked around at them,

"already?" Clara whined.

"He's coming next Saturday, remember?" Sirius reminded Clara in attempt to cheer her up,

"maybe, Sirius," Remus pointed out. "Of course, I'll do my best to make it." He added when James gave him a glare.

Remus hugged them and left the room, apparating once he reached the doorstep.

"Ugh! Still not of-age yet!" Clara complained slacking on a chair,

"only one month!" James sat down on a chair next to her.

"Although, you could've took your apparation test, why didn't you?" Sirius folded his arms,

"I'm doing it this summer. Since I can't do it till I'm 17." She answered simply and Sirius nodded.

"You don't have to be of-age to go to the garden, do you?" James joked,

Clara grinned and nudged him, "let's go!"

She pulled out a bundle or rope from under James's bed, and flung it out the window. James and Sirius grinned at each other and followed her.

"How wants to go first?" Clara turned to them,

"couldn't we have just taken the stairs?" Sirius chuckled.

"Oh definitely not! Me and Vixen have done this since we could walk!" James shook his head,

"is that an exaggeration or-"

"nope!" Clara smirked and started climbing down the rope.

Sirius smiled in admiration as she jumped off the bottom of the rope, then James went next.

"Padfoot's in love with you." He teased Clara in a low voice as they watched Sirius begin to climbed down the rope.

"Shut up," Clara quickly answered him as she felt her face warm up, "or I'll tease you about Lily." She warned.

"I don't mind!" James smirked, Clara elbowed him and he chuckled.

Sirius reached the bottom and jumped off, "that was fun," he grinned at both of them.

They walked off through the garden, eventually turning into their animagus forms and chasing each other.

"I told you a stag is faster!" James said as he transformed back into his human form, sitting down against a bush.

"I tripped!" Sirius protested, transforming back and sitting beside him.

Clara stayed in her fox form and curled up in between James and Sirius, "ugh! Moony's got his furry little problem tonight," Sirius sighed, looking at the full moon and stroking Clara's orange fur.

"He shoulda stayed here, it's probably why he was in such a hurry to go back, didn't want my parents to find out..." James yawned and his eyes closed slowly before he batting them quickly and sitting up energetically.

Ginger ran out the front door and out to them, James took Ginger into his arms and cuddled her, to which Sirius laughed at.

Sirius carried Clara onto his lap, and continued stroking her gently. "Do you think she's fallen asleep?" He whispered to James,
