Ruby and I laugh as we stroll into the building, late as usual.

"Wait," I stop in my spot which shocks the red haired girl

"We forgot to pick up Erin and Alisha" I panic

My best friend gives me a sad facial expression as she places her hand on my shoulder.

"Hails, I didn't want to tell you this" she sighs

I furrow my eyebrows at Ruby.

"What?" I ask, confusion obvious in my tone

"They aren't our friends," Ruby reveals

My confused facial expression doesn't falter which causes Ruby to roll her eyes at me.

"Erin called you a 'drunkey' at her own party that she chose to throw just because you accidentally stumbled into her," Ruby explains

"She's secretly jealous of you, you should use that to your advantage" Ruby smirks

What?

Erin jealous of me?

That seems mildly far fetched.

"What does Alisha have to do with any of this?" I ask my red haired friend

Alisha seems pretty innocent in all of this to me.

"Alisha will always pick Erin over you and me," Ruby frowns

I frown at this information in response.

I thought that Erin and Alisha were my friends.

We all planned on buying a house in college and staying in it so that we could all be roommates.

"You should stick with me Hails," Ruby gives me a reassuring smile

The red haired girl hoops her arm with mine and strolls down the hall in sync with me.

"If we show them that their attempts at riling us up aren't working then that'll drive them crazy" Ruby muses with a low tone of voice

I furrow my eyebrows at this.

"It will?" I ask with curiosity

Ruby hums.

"We could be the most popular girls in school," Ruby chuckles at little at this, seemingly thinking about something

"That would drive them crazy for sure" Ruby states

I nod my head.

I shouldn't waste my time dwelling on an old friendship, especially one that was apparently one sided.

"Okay, what do we have to do?" I ask her with curiosity

Ruby smiles, happy that I am on board.

"For starters, we need to make it clear that we don't associate with them anymore," she says

I nod, listening closely.

"We do this by isolating ourselves as far away from them as possible" Ruby explains

I smile and nod my head.

"I'm craving chipotle" Ruby says after the lunch bell rings

I laugh at her statement.

"Do you want to go off campus for lunch?" I rhetorically ask her

Ruby slides a pair of thick, white sunglasses over her eyes.
