Discombobulated- (adj.) emotionally confused or uncertain

Sorry if this chapter is really bad, I accidentally broke my phone today after only having it for like two months.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Nothing.

Not a drip of a faucet.

Not a tick of a clock.

Not a creak of an old floorboard.

Not a sound.

"I am so fucking bored!" I yell out, not necessarily yelling it to anybody

I mean- it's not like I even can.

I am home alone on an early Friday afternoon.

I remove my new ice pack from my nose and open my cellphone using a passcode.

Once my cellphone is completely unlocked I click on the phone icon and dial Ruby's number.

I wait until it starts ringing to bring it up to my ear.

It takes a few moments but Ruby eventually picks up the phone.

"What's up?" She instantly asks

I sigh and flop back onto my mattress with a pout.

"I'm so bored" I dramatically drag out

Ruby laughs at my pain as if it were a joke.

"What do you want me to do about it?" She asks

I roll my eyes at the slight attitude in her tone of voice.

"Can you come over to my house and hang out with me?" I ask her

She hums at my proposition as she thinks it over.

"Sure," she eventually says

Damn.

Well it took her long enough.

"Can I bring a few of my friends though?" She asks me

Oh.

Ruby has friends outside of me?

That is surprising to say the least.

I mean don't get me wrong Ruby is amazing, but to others she could come off as 'annoying' or 'inconsiderate'.

Anyways, that is besides the point.

I know that she does not mean Erin and Alisha since she was the one who suggested that I unfriend them.

Hmm.

I wonder who these friends are.

"Please Hails, you'll love them" Ruby promises me

I laugh since I can hear the smile in her tone.

"Fine," I give in

"But only a few friends," I warn her

I stand up from my bed and make my way over towards my mirror to look at my reflection.

"My parents still aren't home and I seriously doubt that they would appreciate strangers being in the house" I laugh

I furrow my eyebrows as I approach my full body mirror.

I move from side to side in front of it but nothing.

Where the hell is my reflection?!

Am I a vampire?!

Wait-
