None of the mythical or religious 'facts' in this chapter are true, please do not take them to heart.

I got this idea from an episode of Grey's Anatomy.

Aspen's POV

"Aspen" I faintly hear someone call out

It's a woman.

Her voice sounds gentle, but far away.

"Aspen" they call out again, their voice becoming clearer

I feel a cluster of fingers running through my hair with such a gentleness that it unconsciously relaxes me.

I take in a deep breath of air as I finally gain control of my body.

"Come on, that's it" the voice soothes as I attempt to open my eyes

My vision is blurry at first and my eyeballs burn at the sudden gust of air that hits them.

Fuck.

I blink a few times, groaning at the bright light in my face.

A shadow is suddenly cast over my face due to someone moving their head in front of said bright light.

I blink a handful of times, focusing my eyes on the sight above me.

Once my eyes are completely focused on the sight before me I furrow my eyebrows at the woman who's voice I heard earlier.

"Carolina?" I ask, my voice coming out more hoarse than intended

What is she doing here?!

Charlotte and I haven't seen her in years!

Scratch that-

Why does she look the same way that she did when Charlotte and I were teenagers?

She looks twenty one again!

Why?!

The blonde looks down at me with a warm, motherly smile.

"W-What are you doing here?" I ask, not hiding my shock

I briefly glance away from her face only for my heart to pound in my chest.

What the-

The sky is pink and orange, like a summer sunset.

It's beautiful.

The blonde helps me sit up on the grass that we're sitting on.

I lift my head up from her thighs, noticing that her legs are crossed as if she has been sitting here for awhile.

As I maneuver my body so that I am sitting beside her I glance around at our scenery.

There seems to be no visible ending to the large patch of green that we are currently sat on.

A breathtakingly beautiful clear, sparkling river rests a few feet in front of us, this river also seems to have no visible ending.

There are houses of different sizes and shapes with about a yard of space in between each one, giving everyone a considerable amount of land.

What the-

"Where are we?" I ask her with a distracted tone of voice as I continue to glance around at the scenery before us

I hear the blonde sigh out before standing up a few seconds later.

I immediately follow her lead, standing up from the oddly comfortable grass.
