NATASHA ALIA SINGHANIA

After lunch the next day, I returned to my penthouse. Rohan wasn't there for lunch as he had gone out. Samaira's words from the Diwali party lingered in my mind. Have I truly changed? Is she right?

Yes, I must have changed because Rohan is no longer annoying. He's caring, cute, funny, and, well, a bit silly. He's not just my boss; he's my best friend, with whom I can share anything without hesitation. Why should I avoid him now? I'm so confused. What should I do?

Oh, right, it's Sunday, and I need to call my Patel gang, my friends from Australia. I immediately initiated a video call, and they answered. I greeted them, "Hello Aarav bhai, Navya, Divya. How are you all doing? How's the weather in Australia? How's life?"

Navya and Divya responded together, "Hi Alia. We're all fine. Life is amazing. Australia is cold. How are you and everyone in Washington DC and Toronto?"

Assuring them that everything is good, I noticed Aarav bhai engrossed in his phone. "Aarav bhai, HELLO, can't you keep your phone aside for a while?" I exclaimed. Aarav bhai responded, and we all chatted for a while.

Neil Mamu joined the call and commented, "Alia, you've changed a lot, dear. I like it. You were always the good kid, but you're even better now." He left as Avni Mami called him.

Aarav bhai asked, "Is it because of a boy? You've changed a lot. Are you in love or something? What's the catch?" Navya and Divya teased and smirked.

I spilled the beans about me and Rohan, sharing every detail from the kiss seven years ago to the recent coffee incident. I vividly described Rohan's character.

Aarav bhai said, "Natasha, I don't know about you, but even a kid or a stranger can see that Rohan loves you. You mentioned he stopped playing around, which itself shows how much he cares for you." I froze, butterflies fluttering in my stomach. Rohan loves me? Is it true? I blushed uncontrollably.

Navya teased, "Damn Alia, you're blushing so hard. Look at your face."

Divya asked, "Do you love him too, Natasha?" I was clueless. I really didn't know.

"I don't know about my feelings. I'm confused. Please help me out," I admitted. We all fell silent as the video call briefly disconnected and then reconnected.

Aarav bhai suggested, "For one month, stay away from Dev, and go back to Washington DC. Keep things normal. No one should know it's our plan. Tell everyone you miss your family or, better yet, say you miss Yash fufaji. They'll understand."

Divya added, "Stay away from Rohan for a month. Avoid him. You'll be tempted to answer his calls, see him, or respond to his texts. Stay strong and just avoid him. Your feelings will become clear."

I agreed but worried about breaking the news to the Raichands, especially Dev. Aarav bhai advised, "Talk to Arnab uncle and go. If he's your friend and truly cares for you, he'll understand."

NEXT DAY

ROHAN DEV RAICHAND

I hadn't seen Natasha since the coffee incident. It felt like she had disappeared for years. I pondered over the incident, contemplating Alia's reaction. I could see love, care, and desire in her eyes. Does she love me? No, I shouldn't think like that. I don't want our friendship to be ruined. I can't bear it if she avoids me or runs away again.

Entering my office, I found Natasha sitting on the couch. A pleasant surprise indeed. I smiled widely, and she stood up, coming toward me, giving me a warm hug. We sat on the couch, and I couldn't hide my happiness.

Natasha said, "Ronny boy, you consider me as your BFF, right?"

I replied, "Absolutely, babe. Any doubts about it?"

She explained, "I want to talk to you about something. I really miss my family, especially my dad. I'm here in Canada because of this job and friends like you, Kabir, and your sisters. I couldn't sleep last night; I cried. I miss them, that's all I know. So, I want to go to Washington DC for a few days. Will you let me go?"

Oh no! Natasha is trying to steal a part of my heart. I couldn't be selfish.

"Okay, go if you want to, but on one condition," I replied.

"I'll do anything, Ronny boy, anything. Tell," she eagerly responded.

"Not now. I'll tell you after you come back. Have fun, take care, spend time with your family, and come back soon," I said.

She hugged me tightly, expressing her gratitude. I asked about her departure time, and she mentioned a 2 pm flight on Air Canada, a 1hr 35min journey.

GOD DAMN IT!....................

THESE FEW DAYS ARE GONNA BE HELL FOR ME...............................

SOMETIME LATER

NATASHA ALIA SINGHANIA

Feeling relaxed, Rohan allowed me to go. Throughout the flight, I contemplated my feelings. I arrived at IAD Dulles International Airport and promptly texted Arnab uncle and Ronny boy to let them know I had landed safely. After claiming my baggage, I stepped outside and was pleasantly surprised to find Karan bhai, Kriti dee, Aashi dee, Nikhil bhai, Nisha bhabhi, and Gautam bhai waiting for me. Overwhelmed with joy, I ran and hugged Gautam bhai first, followed by each one of them in turn. After our heartfelt reunion, we all got inside the car.

Gautam bhai inquired, "So, Alia, we all missed you so much. How come you're here all of a sudden?"

I explained, "I missed you all too, so much that I cried badly last night. I pulled myself together and went to Rohan's office, asking him to grant me leave. He agreed, and I felt relieved. I miss you all very, very much, especially Dad. Can't wait to see him. Karan bhai and Kriti dee, how come you're both here?"

Karan bhai replied, "Gautam informed everyone that you're coming home today, so we couldn't wait for you to come to New York. Mom and Dad will come by tomorrow."

Kriti dee asked, "So, how's life in Canada?" I shared everything about my life there, including my friendship with Rohan, but I avoided delving into too much detail.

Nisha bhabhi chimed in, "Not bad, Alia. You used to run away from Dev and avoid him, and now you're friends with him, even working with him. Great! He's an asshole sometimes, but he's a great guy. You'll get to know him gradually."

Aashi dee inquired, "Is everything okay? You haven't run away from there, right?"

I assured her, "No, dolly dee. I've informed Arnab uncle and Ronny boy."

Nikhil bhai teased, "Ronny boy, huh?"

I chuckled, "Yeah, it's like I used to call him sir. He hated it. When he saved my life in Dubai, I thanked him numerous times. He told me to stop calling him sir, so I started calling him Ronny boy."

Kriti asked, "What do you mean by he saved your life?" I proceeded to tell them about the Dubai accident.

Gautam bhai declared, "I'll text Rohan. I need to thank him for saving your life."

Nik bhai added, "I'll text him too." They both sent messages to Rohan.

I redirected the conversation, saying, "Now, let's drop my topic, guys. So, tell me what's happening in your lives?"

Kriti dee shared, "The same old regular routine, nothing more."

Aashi dee added, "But something good is going to happen with Nikhil bhai and Nisha bhabhi."

Curious, I asked, "What, dolly dee? Tell me."

Gautam bhai announced, "Nisha bhabhi is five weeks pregnant. She found out two days ago. No one else knows about it except for all of us and her family."

I squealed with joy, "Congratulations, Nikhil bhai and Nisha bhabhi! I'm so happy for you guys. I'm going to become a bua (aunt)." I was thrilled, although I couldn't help but think of Rohan and remembered Aarav bhai and Navya Divya's advice.
