"So Hawks is a villain, huh?"
"Mhm."
"That's a pretty big deal."
"Mhm."
"You're not listening to me, are you?"
"Mhm."
You let out a sigh, leaning closer to him. "If you don't respond every now and then, I'll tell Tomura-kun that you're being an asshole to me."
That finally made him turn his head.
Dabi scoffed. "Wow, look at you. Newsflash, sweetheart, but you've been kidnapped. Again. Don't tell me some sick part of you is actually enjoying this?"
"I don't even understand half of what goes on in my head nowadays. But I'm trying to make the best of it, yes. You're the one who let me go in the first place because of how he was treating me. I thought you might be somewhat happy to know that he's not so horrible anymore."
"There are very few things that make me happy," he muttered.
"Such as?"
"Dipshit heroes getting being exposed for how shallow they really are and getting what they deserve."
"Oh, you must really hate Hawks then," you remarked. "Because everyone loves him, and yet he's over here cooperating with you guys."
"Hawks is just one example. He's making himself useful, at least. There are others I hate more."
"Like who?"
Dabi rolled his eyes at you. "Someone sure is chatty today." He rifled through his pockets, pulled out a worn-out pack of cigarettes, and proceeded to create a small blue flame on his fingertip and use it to light it. He then pressed the cigarette against his lips and took a long, sluggish drag. "Careful. The boss will lose his shit if he sees that you've been taking an interest in another guy. You're cute, but I'm not putting my life on the line just to get some ass."
"Don't worry. I'm not interested," you said simply.
"Oh, good."
"But I still remember what you told me that day, before you let me walk out. When you mentioned how there are people who've trampled over others for their own benefit, but are still considered 'good' by the public. You were talking about a hero back then, right? Which one?"
"Hm, I don't know," he shrugged, taking another puff. "Don't remember."
"You do. Stop lying to me. I'll really tell on you."
"Why do you care so much, anyways?"
"Because I want to know." You clenched your fists, chest tightening in frustration. "Heroes clearly haven't been able to help me. I can't really say I ever idolized them to begin with, but the more things I discover, like how Hawks is actually a villain, the more I find myself hating them. So, I want to know who you're talking about. Is there another asshole like him, pretending to be a hero but is actually a villain?"
Dabi tilted his head towards you, blowing smoke right into your face. "You really want to know?"
"Yes. I do."
"Alright. Then, listen close." He gestured for you to come closer with his index finger. "You're listening, yeah? Okay. Well, this'll really shock you. It's a super popular hero. His codename is... shut the hell up and leave me alone."
You scrunched up your nose, eyes stinging from the smoke. "Haven't heard of him. Since you're not going to tell me, I'm just going to guess. But you have to tell me if I've guessed correctly."
