You wondered if the police was searching for you by now.
Normally, it took up to 48 hours to be able to file a missing person report. That time had nearly elapsed. It probably wouldn't do them any good to look for you, since you'd disappeared without a trace, but Luca must have been losing his mind by now. You wondered if you'd ever see him again. He was a sweet, kind soul. You'd taken the happiness you'd had together for granted. Sure, every now and then you'd craved some more excitement, but oh, what you wouldn't do to have your peaceful life back.
For a villain, Shigaraki seemed to spend nearly all his time indoors. This was probably because he was a wanted criminal and it was dangerous to be spotted, but he actually had the perfect disguise, now that you thought of it. The media had only ever depicted him with those freaky artificial hands all over his body. Nobody even knew what he looked like, which was why you hadn't recognized him back in the alleyway. With those portals on his side, he could come and go pretty much as he wanted, but he still chose to stay inside. So far when he'd been in his room, you hadn't seen him with those artificial hands on. You hoped it could stay that way for a while.
On the second day of your kidnapping, Shigaraki called you by your name.
"What?"
"I said, [Name], get over here."
He was calling you from the other side of the door, which meant you had permission to leave the room? You got up carefully, opened the door, and found Shigaraki staring back at you with his beady red eyes barely visible. The hands were there, attached all over. Fuck. Those things gave you the creeps.
"Since I'm still debating whether or not I want to kill you," he said casually, "I've decided to find out if you'll be of any use to me. You're clearly a weakling and you'd piss your pants if I ever tried to make you fight, but maybe you could clean up around here. It's kind of a fucking mess."
"I can clean," you nodded hastily.
"Wow, amazing. I'm so amazed that you can do something so trivial."
You bit your lip to keep from screaming. "Um, I just meant... tell me where you'd like me to start, and I'll do it."
"Take a look around, idiot. It's dusty as hell in here. Don't even get me started on the bathroom."
He sat down at the bar and had Kurogiri make him a drink. It didn't look as though he had anything else to say on the matter, so you began scouring the place for a broom and dustpan. You found them lodged in a tiny little closet, which was plenty dusty on its own. Shigaraki somehow sipped at his drink through the artificial hand thing on his face and looked over at you.
"Don't even think of trying to run away. If you do, I'll make sure you die an agonizing death. I'm trying to be a nice guy here, so don't test me."
You desperately wanted to ask what part of him was nice, but cleaning was fine. It was important to keep yourself busy, to keep your mind occupied with at least something, otherwise you would go insane in no time. You wondered how sustainable all of this was. Suppose Shigaraki decided to keep you around—then what? Even if you weren't killed, the alternative was... staying here? With him?
No, don't think like that. I'll get away somehow. I just need to find an opening.
Kurogiri eyed you warily as you swept around the room. It was clear he didn't trust you to remain obedient, but he seemed far more level-headed and rational than Shigaraki. You hoped that perhaps you might stand a chance negotiating with him.
For now, the best thing you could do was listen to everything Shigaraki told you to do.
"I think some insurance might be a good thing to have."
