I stood on the balcony staring up into the night sky. It was dazzled with bright shining stars. The moon streaked a faint light, illuminating the sky. I sighed enjoying the moment.

Hands then snaked around my waist causing me to grasp from the sudden gesture. "Its a beautiful night isn't it." Her voice was soft, and it sent chills through me. I nodded in response."

Although," the mysterious voice started, "its not as beautiful as you." She then placed a small kiss on the base of my neck. I felt my face heat up.

The light coming in from my windows woke me from my dream. My face was still heated. "What was that dream?"

"What was that, miss?" I looked over to see my maid preparing my morning routine. "Nothing Rosie, I was just thinking out loud."

Without pressing on, she continued her job while quietly humming to herself. I never understood why but she was always thrilled doing her tasks.

I lay in bed staring at the ceiling. I wasn't ready to move yet. It had taken me a long time to calm down last night, and even more time to relax after I'd realize exactly what this would mean for me.

"Are you ready to get up now miss?"

"Noooo," I moaned into my pillow. I hadn't had nearly enough sleep, and I wasn't ready to deal with father yet. Rosie laughed at my groan, which was enough motivation to get me out of bed and start moving.

Rosie has always been the easiest person to talk to in the palace. While everyone else is so uptight and serious, Rosie has just been someone I can have fun with and have silly conversation with.

I moved slowly into the mosterous bathroom, every step echoing against the vastness of tile and glass. Rosie must have noticed my puffy eyes and red cheeks because I saw her give me concerned look. Thankfully, she didn't ask questions about it. All she did was carefully remove my night gown and usher me to the bath.

After my bath, Rosie dried my hair, pulling half up with my favorite ribbons. They were a deep blue that looked like waves in the ocean when they moved. The dress she picked out for me accented the ribbon in my hair. She then did my makeup, making it light just how it like.

There was an array of jewelry to choose from, but I picked the simplest thing in there that also happened to be my favorite. It was a tiny necklace with a heart shaped locket on it. Inside was a picture of me, my mother, and my father. I felt tears well up as I thought about how things use to be when I was younger.

In the long mirror I saw Rosie looking me over, smiling at the results. I took that as a sign that I was ready to go down for breakfast. With a curtsy and smile, she wished me a good day as I went to leave.

When I walked into the Great Room, I saw my mother and father already there. I took my seat next to my father that was also across from my mother. "Good morning Seraphine."

"Goodmorning mother."

Father was still silent. Probably still peeved with how I reacted last night. The servers came and poured orange juice into our glasses. Our plates came covered as usual on large trays, and the butlers lifted the covers off right in front of us. I was hit in the face with the delicous smell of pancakes. My father blessed the food, and we then began eating.

Unlike our usually meals, this did not have a comfortable silence. I could feel the tension radiating from my mother and father making it hard to enjoy my food.

My father finally broke this uncomfortable silence, "I hope you're ready for your deparcher Seraphine. You will be leaving right after breakfast."

My grip tightened around my utensils. "Are you being serious right now father? With what happened last night I would've thought you would have reconsidered. It's obvious that I don't want to get married to a random stranger. So why do I have to go through all this when I refuse to mar-"

"Enough Seraphine. You are a princess, so act like one and get your temper under controll."

I felt defeated. I'm being forced to marry someone that I don't know, and I will probably never love them. I heard my father sigh before continuing. "I know you're against it right now, but the least you can do is meet the prince and try. This will be good for our kingdom as well as you."

"Yes father." I didn't know what else to say. There was no winning this. "May I be excused?" My father nodded in response. I then quickly got from my chair, and walked out of the room. As soon as I knew I was out of their sight, I gathered up my gown and started running to my room.

When I made it there, I saw Rosie still in my room, but instead of cleaning like she usually does she was packing my things. Tears started rolling down my face when I realized that as soon as she was done I'd be leaving.

I walked passed her before she could say anything, going to the balcony. The cool morning breeze hit my skin causing me to shiver slightly. I looked over the palace grounds knowing this would probably be my last time seeing it.

I stood out there for what felt like an eternity. But that eternity wasn't long enough. Rosie soon came to get me telling me it was time for me to go. I stood there for a couple seconds longer before turning and heading towards the door. I stopped right before I walked out. "Is there something wro-"

Before she could finish I turned and gave her a tight hug. "I'm going to miss you Rosie." I felt her place her delecate hands onto my back. "I think I'll miss you the most Seraphine." I tore away from the hug knowing the longer it lasted the harder it would be to leave.

I slowly walked down the hall, taking in every last detail so that I don't forget. When I made it down to me front entrance, I saw my mother waiting by the door. I scanned the rest of the room. No sight of my father. Of course he wasn't going to say goodbye.

My mother embraced me with a hug, and wished me well. She made sure to tell me to remember my lessons and my place. When she was done reminding me of everything I already know, I was off. I got into the car waiting for me right outside. The man opened the door for me, and I got in getting comfortable in my seat. He then closed the door and walked around to the front.

As we started moving, I watched as what use to be my home slowly disapear behind us.
