AFTER what happened at the cullens residence, everything seemed off. they stopped coming to school, bella seen less of edward. even astrid was on edge, you weren't sure why. everything was going fine, now it was anything but. it wasnt until a few days later edward decided to pay bella a visit. they made their way to he designated spot in the forest, one where it all started.

but it wasn't everyday that you would experience a heartbreak so defying that you felt completely numb to the core. having lost someone so important to you, feeling like you couldn't bare another moment without their presence. it wasn't until edward had told bella that he would be leaving forks that she felt as if her world had crumbled beneath her. everything was going so smoothly, one thing had set off an entire conflict.

just a couple days into the simplicity of your normal teenage lives again and it already began to subside into darkness.

everyone had gone frantic, thinking she went missing, thinking she was taken. she was found in the woods, sleeping. simply sleeping. but when she awoke there was a croak in her voice and a sadness along with it. a blank stare in her eyes and a dimness to her face. she had definitely been through something.

after everything, the promises, the kisses, edward had still left. bella fully understood why, but she wasn't going to let herself accept it. edward had left. she couldn't even hear anyone talking, see anyone looking. she couldn't see you begging her to eat, take a shower, just take a ride with you, get some fresh air. as much as she wanted to reply she felt stuck. bella had gone to feeling completely in love and euphoric, to numb. she felt as if her heart had been simply snatched from her body, not yet shattered, but kept. she would never love anyone like she loved edward, she would never see anyone the same way she saw him.

you couldnt even begin to explain the frustration that came along with him leaving her. it was a complicated situation- doing what's best for those you love and keeping them at best. it didn't seem like a coincidence for edward to start distancing himself after the birthday party incident- it also wasn't a surprise when you found out that he had just left.

at night, just when the dark would sooth your worries and sleep would finally begin to take over, bella screams peirced your ears, stabbed through your brain. bella was having night terrors consistently. replays of edward leaving her would visit her in her dreams at night. you couldn't even have dreams at night. both you and charlie were restless, you two alternated waking up bella and comforting her after her most recent scream-fest. it was torture, but you couldn't even begin to feel how she felt.

her pain flowed through you. for those very miniscule moments of sleep you had were filled with memories of magic, anything that made you inhuman. diving into the depths of the ocean and not being able to find your way back to the surface. wolves howling at the moon, wolves who gave a familiar presence. wolves that if you looked them in the eye you would recognize them as someone you knew. it was at times like these when you knew nothing in your life would be normal again.

besides the nightmares, bella still tried to reach out. she had sent tons and tons of emails to alice, begging for closure, reassurance. none were returned. bella sat at their table during lunch, a blank stare out the window as her eyes traced the rays of the sun. you wanted to sit with her, let her know that you were here for her but you felt as if you would be invading something personal. to others, it was just a crazy in love teenage girl, mourning the breakup of her boyfriend. but no one- not even you or astrid could understand the emotion behind the situation. understand how much bella truly loved edward, how much edward would do just to keep bella safe. when you thought about the entire story it was tragic to say the least.
