YOU CLUTCHED your bag, rolling your eyes a little as you stood in the driveway of the Swan residence.

this wasnt really your greatest or happiest moment, rain had already started to sprinkle from the gloomy dark gray of the sky.

you sighed, hanging your head low and walking up the door, making sure to plaster a smile on your face as to not bring down your family's mood.

"y/n uh hi!" bella exclaimed jumping to give you a hug, you have to admit she was a little awkward at first but you had a feeling that was just her personality.

she jumped at you, almost knocking you down. you laughed dropping one bag to wrap your arm around her waist in attempt to hug back.

the other hand carried your backpack that would fall if you let go. she pulled away, shoving her hands in the back pocket of her jeans.

"havent seen you in forever, bell."

"yeah, been a while since you lived in pheonix. im sure you miss the heat." she laughed.

"oh yeah, when did you end up moving back here?" you asked.

"i got here just now. funny."

you nodded, looking around and realizing that the rain has started to fall aggressively.

"well, uh come say hi to charlie." she grabbed your bag that you had previously dropped.

gulping, your stomach started to twist a little with anxiety.

there was honestly no reason to be anxious, really small town, close family friends, but you haven't seen them in so long & you had allowed your mind to already think into the new school that you would have to attend.

"(y/n), hey." charlie dragged out, pulling you into a hug.

"i didnt know bella was gonna be here, im really sorry, i didnt want to overpopulate the house." you half- joked.

"you been giving your mom a hard time?" he raised a brow.

getting straight to the point.

"its just-" you tried to find the words, rubbing at your eyes. "its alot, you know."

he nodded, trying his best to understand 'damn teenagers' he thought, shaking his head.

"you and bella are going to have to share a room, this place is small." he deadpanned, hands on his belt. "but we will figure it out for you, in time. probably clear out the storage room or give you mine."

"chief of police, huh?" you smirked, pointing to the badge.

"only the best." he replied sarcastically.

'yeah this is gonna be a blast." you thought to yourself. bella led you up the stairs and down the hall.

"he cleared off some shelves in the bathroom but i guess we are going to have to half and half it." she explained.

"one bathroom?"

"that's what i said."

she led you into her room, drawings from when you guys were kids still still pinned to the wall, board games rested on the dressers, smaller jewelry organized.

"gosh bella you really havent been here in a while."

"yeah." she replied looking around again.

the room seemed almost impossibly small. or maybe that was just your anxiety closing you in.

"well theres not much to this." she stated looking around.
