Previously: The phones rang and a female petite voice boomed. "Registration is now closed. The game is now beginning. The game is 10 of Hearts. Breaking Point."
We Continue...
---------------------------------
Ivon was immediately concerned but she took a centering breath and kept watching the phone. Evangeline had no idea what the cards had to do with anything. Her fear was slowly fading and becoming excited for no reason. A random burst of energy it seems. A ten?!?
Oh, fuck! Lars immediately regretted hoping for the best. "A ten..? Good luck, everyone..." Atokaru was clearly out of it- All of the other strangers sat calmly at the table, not even flinching.
Ivon made eye contact with Lars in an attempt to quietly show him that he had an ally in her. Given a ten and a heart this was vital. How the fuck is everyone calmer than me?!? Lars wondered. "Let's all wait for the rules. No need to panic just yet," Ivon said as calmly as she could.
She just hoped that this was a game that she could think them all out of. Evan glances at Lars, with a confused look on her face. Her legs swing gently. Why are they panicking? She thought.
"The rules are, you will be presented with a gun. Shoot someone in the room. Everyone will get a ding on their phones but only one person will be present with the choice, public, or private." "No no, shoot anywhere." The voices made the rules unclear to Evangeline. Though she didn't care too much. "I see..."
Atokaru only nods, not seeming to be processing all of this. DING. "Just to be safe, shoot someone in the foot. There are few arteries and all of the ones there are minor." Ivon explained. "And don't shoot the toe, also try to avoid bones."
The lights turn off. Everything will happen because it's supposed to. Evangeline takes a deep breath. With a gunshot. The lights turn on, to show blood, and a dead Finnigan. Shot in the head.
Lars panics. Atokaru jumps from the gunshot, but once the light turns on, he turns his gaze over to Finnigan. He seems so neutral and unfazed by this...Ivon was freaking out right now. Someone was out for blood, otherwise, they wouldn't have shot the head.
"We are in a storm, y'all. Holy shit." Lars said in a matter-of-fact tone. Evangeline just stared in shock. She had never seen a dead body in real life. "Gunpowder.... the scent of gunpowder should be on the person who shot the gun,"
Ivon explained in a somewhat shell-shocked tone. This was all a dream. This was a dream and her mom was gonna be home soon to make dinner with her and they would have a movie night. It's a dream. Yeah, it's a dream.
Evangeline thought, smiling softly and staring at the man but zoning back out into her daydreams. The smell of gunpowder emitted from Finnigan. "The smell is coming from him," Ivon said as she pointed at the body. "It may have been a suicide," she suggested, not willing to take any leaps of logic just yet. "And why would he do that? Less you suggest that a person would wanna lose here?"
Said the formerly silent Matthew. "..." We are so fucked. We are so fucked. We are so fucked.
