Previously: But this time she just laid there and didn't cuddle with Atokaru. She let her hair fall over her face as she laid there. Drifting once more.

She stirs and slowly wakes up, half of her face hidden by the blanket so basically only her eyes were see-able. It seems Atokaru was still asleep. But he was facing towards her. She rubbed her eyes and laid there. Just examining in a sense.
And she smiled, reaching out and pushing some of his hair off his face. She was comfortable like this. She then turned, looking up at the ceiling. And told herself everything would be ok. She wanted to hold on to these moments as much as she could.
It was because though she wasn't afraid of death she had dread in her gut. She didn't want to leave anyone behind. She zoned out into her mind. She turned back to just look at him, still rather far than usual. She got out of the bed and walked back into the bathroom, grabbing her hoodie after staring at it, checking that it wasn't ripped.
It was ok until she found a shirt anyway. She sighed, looking at her face in the mirror. The bruises were getting darker. She found a mask in a cabinet and put it on. Now at least she wouldn't feel self conscious of her face.
Only her eyes were seeable. One thing she had learned about herself living here was that she wasn't really good at listening to people. Like, she wanted to stay but she was low on weaponry and other things she didn't have at her own house. And her body felt well rested and energetic now. She pushed the sink and immediately winced.
Her wrist had bruised pretty badly while she slept. Ok well that was a problem, but she was strong enough with one hand. She found a piece of paper and a pen and wrote a note. I know I wasn't supposed to leave alone. But I really need some things before we switch locations.
I'm sorry, I won't do this again. Signed Evangeline. She folded it up and put it in his hand, taping it so that he couldn't miss it. "I'll be back safe this time." She said with a smile.
She left the room and walked into her own. Grabbing the gun and her backpack. And heading out into Sacramento streets. She went more quietly, walking past the litter of trash from earlier. She just needed to get to Costco and back.
She was a bit more alert since it was darker outside. She hummed you are my sunshine under her breath. She forgot how nervous she'd felt in the fight before. And slowly and quietly but surely she was almost at the Costco. She let out a sigh of relief before walking into the Costco.
She walked in, determined to be in and out. Going straight to the hair products for rubber bands. And then to the clothes to get a shirt. Then she walked to get a new pocket knife. Unfortunately Atokaru wasn't here though.
