(If someone notices me writing Y/n instead of Maddy (except for those who know about the fact that you readers aren't named Maddy (minus those who actually are named Maddy lol) of course), pls tell me, I got a little rusty from writing on the other fanfic and well, on the other one there only is Y/n for me lmao :') Anyway, enjoy the chapter) (wow brackets inside of brackets inside of brackets wtf-)

The two days passed by rather quickly. Gen went ahead and you, together with Hyoga's group of people, followed by a difference of some hours. You hoped that Gen hurried so that his distance grows. It would be the smartest move to make time for himself, so he could properly inform Senku without gaining any suspicion, while you stayed with Hyoga to make sure that Gen safely can make time for himself.

Right now, everyone slept and you worked out, so you could keep your body fit, just in case. There of course was a chance that everything might get ruined by a double betrayal of Gen. If he would side with Hyoga... You would be doomed. And if that might be the case, you would have to run for your life. You would have to flee and find Senku and his allies. But succeeding to find him is a story on its own, you didn't have any idea where he and this primitive village exactly are. You could figure that out by carrying out an elimination process, but this wouldn't give you exact information to work with. There would be a chance of 95% that Hyoga would find you before you find Senku and you'd die.

Your plans only have a realistic chance to succeed if Gen actually was your and Senku's ally. Your heart trusted Gen...but your brain was too stubborn to trust him fully. And you knew that it'd be naive to fully trust him, ignoring the possibility of betrayal.

You currently were hanging on a branch with your legs while doing pull-ups. It helped you to focus. Your sharp mind was your only effective weapon right now. So you needed to fully focus, making it possible for you to fully use your mind. If Gen warns Senku, he for sure knows how to protect himself and his allies. And for him to protect them best, would be at night. You smirked at the idea you had.

"Maddy, can't you sleep?" You heard above your head. Well, you were hanging, so the voice actually came from below you. You looked in the direction of where the voice came from and spotted the assistant of Hyoga. "Homura-san?" You got off the branch. "Well, not really. I was working out so I could maybe get tired and sleep." You answered and noticed how her eyes narrowed in suspicion. "I saw you smirk." She said in a low voice and you nodded.

"Because the night's darkness gave me a great idea." You told her and she rose her brow. "An idea?" She asked and you leaned against the tree, crossing your arms. "Gen is said to warn us if some issue occurs. So that means that if he doesn't return to warn us, nothing happened in the village and they can't threaten us." You told her and she nodded, also leaning on a tree across from you. "What are you trying to say?" She asked and you smiled.

"Hyoga plans to start a surprise attack, doesn't he?" You asked and she nodded again. "He plans to attack them at night." She answered and your eyes narrowed. "At which time approximately?" You asked and she placed her hand on her chin, thinking. "Might be like 11 pm or something like that." She answered and you nodded.

"Ok. Well, usually the darkest time of night is at midnight or so. But right now, it's summer. So this time is being shoved to some later hours. The day is longer and the night therefore shorter. This is why midnight might not be a fitting time for it. Usually, in summer times the sun goes down by approximately 8 or 9 pm. It rises at 5 or 6 pm. So this means that summer nights approximately might last around 9 hours. And the sun is on its lowest point in the exact middle of the night. Sounds logical, right?" You asked her and she nodded, not interrupting you.

You smiled and continued. "The middle of the night, according to my approximate assumption might be at around 1:30 am to 3 am that also is the usual time for people to be asleep. So if we're lucky, no one is awake and we can look for that scientist." You answered and she smiled. "You're very sharp-minded, Maddy. Seems like Hyoga-sama didn't overestimate you." She answered and you nodded. "Still, the huge time lapse caused by the petrification might make things a little different. This is why I observed the sun's timing of dawn and dusk. And this made me conclude that 3:30 am or 4 am might be a good timing to attack the village." You told her and her eyes widened.
