(For the rereaders, if you exist, don't be confused about tiny changes in phrasing etc. I was trying to make the book a little more black reader friendly :) I didn't know if it was good enough the way it was, but I want the black queens amongst you readers to feel included.
Also, idk if anyone needs these, but I think I should place some trigger warnings throughout this fanfiction:
Major character death
PTSD
Bullying and rumors
Loss of someone/Grief
Sexual harassment
Unrequited love
Near-death experienceNow onto the fanfic! 💕 It's not as full of gore as it sounds like, I promise 💀)
"Happy Birthday, Y/n! You now are 5 years old!" Your mother cheered for you with a happy smile and your eyes sparkled from seeing the beautiful birthday cake.
Your father then lifted you up and sat you down to sit on the chair. You thanked him with a happy grin and blew the candles.
"Have you spoken your wish in your mind?" Your father asked and you panicked. "I forgot!! I forgot!! I wish that Mommy would tell me a story before I go to bed!!" You wished and both your parents chuckled. "You're not supposed to loudly say your wish. But I will gladly grand your wish." You smiled at your mother. "Yes!!"
You and your parents ate your birthday cake and soon opened your presents. Two presents from your two parents. Since your parents continuously moved from country to country due to work issues you couldn't invite more family members. Making friends also was a problem. You only had your parents.
You went from (your country) to Japan, to America, to Australia, to Spain, France and Germany, China, Singapore, and again to Japan. You didn't like all the moving, so you asked your parents if they could stop it. They promised this time they could finally stay some years in Japan.
"Please unwrap Daddy's present first, Y/n." Your father suggested and softly patted your head with a sincere smile and your mother pouted. "Won't you unwrap Mommy's present first?" She asked and you looked at both, switching from left to right since they sat beside you. Both had their present on their lap.
"I don't want to choose... I will close my eyes, you will unwrap it, and I will look at both presents at the same time!" You suggested, already closing your eyes. Your parents gazed at each other, amused by their daughter's impartiality. "Fine fine." They both sighed with a smile and did as you said.
As soon as you opened your eyes you saw a necklace with you three on it and a book. You knew the book was from your mother. Since you couldn't read you asked her what that book was. "It is the book of the little prince. It was and still is my favorite book." She told you and you smiled, happy to receive such a precious present from your mother.
Then you took the necklace and looked at the picture it had. It was when you three had that one family trip in America. That was one of the rare days where your parents didn't work. Of course, you had babysitters who looked after you but they weren't your parents. This caused you to really treasure every day with your parents, even tho you were young.
"Do you like it?" Your father asked and you nodded, putting the necklace on. "I love it! But it's big...As soon as I grow up, it will fit!" Your father nodded with a chuckle. "I can shorten the necklace if you want to, my little princess."
So he did. Your birthday went on like this until it finally was time for bed. You couldn't wait for your bedtime story, so you practically dragged your mother to your room. You climbed up your bed and covered yourself with your blanket. "So, which story do you want to listen to?"
