"Those rats really have guns! We can't return to Tsukasa like that! We completely embarrassed ourselves with that!!" You heard and saw one of the fighter men raging and cutting a tree with his knives. "That's so frustrating!"

You smiled. "They can't use their weapons if it's stormy, so all we need to do is waiting for a day with good weather." You spoke and the frustrated men turned their heads to you. "We are so lucky to have Maddy... You are right, like always! All we need to do is wait! Then we can properly attack them and return to Tsukasa without embarrassing us!" They concluded.

"Ohh Hyoga-chan~ That's a cool spear~" Gen sang and Hyoga leaned against the tree beside him. "You shouldn't touch it, if you don't want to die." He threatened and Gen quickly stepped away from it. "It would be sad to kill someone important like you." He added and looked at you. You quickly got what he meant. You internally cringed. Not this topic again...

You grabbed the arm of Hyoga and took him with you for a quick talk on your own. "Don't think I didn't get what you mean." You crossed your arms and turned your head. Hyoga chuckled a little. "Don't take it that way, I will keep your little secret for myself. I did that to remind you of my suspicion towards Asagiri Gen. I know you like him, but you seem to suspect him too." You took a deep breath to not cringe. You needed him to believe that...since it was a good excuse for you who stayed a lot with Gen, since he in truth was your only ally right now.

"Of course I suspect him." You internally sighed. You can do this, L/n Y/n... "My heart breaks by only imagining him betraying us for that zombie scientist..." Hyoga smirked. "Zombie scientist is a fitting term for Ishigami Senku." You sighed. "I kept my eyes open, Hyoga. As much as I like Gen..." You can do this, L/n Y/n. "I still observed his every move in detail. He's a talented Mentalist, so he of course avoided my eyes. That was the only suspicious thing he did. I also noticed that he often hid his hands in his sleeves. I specifically observed his hand and noticed stuff like flowers."

Hyoga turned to you. "Flowers?" You nodded. "That might give away some information about him then. Keep on observing him. I trust you much more than I trust him." He approached you and smirked. "But that doesn't mean I am not suspecting you. You know about my real goal after all..." He whispered. You played it off by returning his smirk. "I would be disappointed in your abilities to strategize your plans, if you didn't suspect me." You answered and he chuckled. "I like this answer. Your way of thinking is very proper."

He leaned against a tree and crossed his arms. "You said that we should attack them as soon as it's stormy." He started and you nodded. "It's impossible for them to build modern weapons in this stone world. The only way for them to have a kind of gun is to make it work like a cannon. Which works by lighting it up with fire." You explained and he nodded. "Which can't burn with too much wind. That makes sense." You nodded. "Plus, the wind makes it hard for any sniper to accurately shoot any bullets. Guns are useless during a storm."

"Yet, we need another plan." You both said in unison, surprising the other. "Seems like we are on the same page, Maddy." Hyoga said and smirked. You chuckled and nodded. "Then what did you think about?" You asked him and he pointed at your bow, which you often wore around your back. "I thought about a secondary attack while the frontline, which consists of me and the close combat fighters, distracts everyone." He told you and you nodded.

"That would be the perfect job for Homura and me. She would set the village in fire behind us and I'd support her with some flaming arrows." Hyoga rose his eyebrow. "Flaming arrows?" He asked and you giggled. "Very easy to make. You take a regular arrow and coat the tip with tree sap, which burns easily." You answered and he nodded. "Sometimes you seem like a smart scientist, just like the 'zombie scientist', how you called him. Could you also make guns?" He asked and you nervously giggled. "Of course not, Hyoga. I don't even know how people make metal! You know about my luck with that rock that contained some pure metal!" You explained and Hyoga's eyes narrowed.
