Chapter 11

(Senku's point of view)

"I would have loved her to stay longer..." my father pouted and I hit him. "Yes, a girl alone with two men till late at night, sounds fun. ...That's not fun!! She's a girl and would get uncomfortable being with boys only as soon as it gets dark!!" I scolded him and he chuckled. "Thoughtful. But nothing would happen, since I'm a kind man and you're interested in boys anyway" "How the hell did you get this from?! I'm not gay!" I yelled and Byakuya laughed harder than needed since that wasn't funny.

My phone lit up and I checked it, seeing that Y/n sent me a picture. I opened it and smirked as I saw our selfie, her finally being pictured in high quality. "What are you smiling at? Is it a pretty boy~?" My dad joked and I rolled my eyes. "You're the most annoying person on earth, do you know that? No, it's Y/n. She sent me a selfie from her new phone that I made with her and I was happy for her. She finally has a phone that properly works."

I showed him the selfie and he smiled. "The Taiju thing, hm?" He asked and I shook my head. "The big oaf didn't have a phone to begin with. Y/n had one but it was old and almost dead. I gave her one of my newer ones and took her old one to make experiments with it. A fair trade" I told him and he nodded with a satisfied smile. "She looks happy in that picture. I'm sure she appreciates your gift more than everything." I smirked and put my phone away.

"I don't care if she appreciates it or not. I simply don't want her to annoy me with her joke of a smartphone. Now she finally has a proper phone." I said and looked over to her kitchen. I thought about her Ramen and smirked. "What do you think about Ramen in space? Wouldn't it be fun to eat ramen in space, together with your colleagues?" I asked him and he nodded with a happy grin. "That idea would be fantastic! Thanks, Senku!" He thanked me and ruffled my hair. "Ugh don't touch me!" I complained and ran away, locking myself in my room.

"You won't stop to escape in your room, huh?"

After 10 minutes of driving, you and your father finally arrived home, being greeted by your mother. Being greeted by one of your parents always felt special, since those little things bring you back to your childhood, where they had time with you.

"Welcome home, Y/n. Did you have fun at your friend's place?" She asked you and you nodded with a smile. "Of course, Senku played video games with me for the first time." You told her and paused for a little. "...I heard about the news." You said and soon after hugged her with a smile. "Congrats, mom. Thank you." You softly spoke and closed your eyes with a smile as you felt the loving embrace of your mother.

"I'm sorry we became busier and busier, but we had to gather money for your new sibling... I really hope you understand that..." she said with a guilty expression and you shook your head, smiling at her. "I completely understand. I didn't complain, you know that." You said and your father stroked your head. "Yes you didn't complain but we noticed that you became more distant than usual. You grew a little distant as you became older and that's normal. But these days it got even worse. We're so sorry, Y/n...."

You gulped a little. They didn't know about the situation in school... They make themselves responsible for your change of mood... But if they knew they'd be even more stressed. You knew that now that your mother was pregnant she wouldn't work and your father would have to work even more than usual. They'll become more stressed than now because of the current circumstances. You knew your problems would be like putting water in concentrated acid. You didn't want them to be sad for no reason...

"It's okay, really. I have friends, I won't feel lonely." You told them with a smile and they finally returned your smile. "Thank you for understanding, Y/n. If you need to talk about something with one of us, I now have time since I won't be working during the pregnancy." Your mother reassured and you nodded. "Thank you, mom." You told her and went to your room, taking a deep breath.
