Rivalry (Ishigami Senku x Reader)

Chapter 16

As you heard the footsteps of someone you carefully hid in case this person was evil and observed this person. It turned out that this person was Shishio Tsukasa, the strongest highschooler from Japan. Having him as an enemy would mean your death.

Option 1: You would make a weapon to threaten him so you'd conquer over him and use his strength for your advantage.
Option 2: You'd run away and find a new place to be safe.
Option 3: Work together with him, even though the chance of him conquering you would be high because of his physical strength. Hoping that your ways of science would fascinate him.
Option 4: Play dumb and join him, observing him. Give as little information as possible.

"Who are you? You are observing me but not doing anything. Are you making plans to take me down?" He suddenly asked and ripped you out of your thoughts. You jumped in surprise. "Ah!! Um...I didn't saw a human in a long time...So I wasn't used to see someone else being depetrified. I wanted to make sure you aren't dangerous..." you told him as you came out of your hiding place, carefully choosing your words.

"I didn't see you anywhere. How long were you depetrified?" He asked and you gulped slightly, trying to calm yourself down. "For around a year." You answered and he nodded. "Seems to be true, seeing that you are wearing clothes. You don't have any weapon with you either, so it seems that you're not dangerous. What's your name, young lady?" He asked you and gave you a gentle smile. You took a deep breath and calmed yourself down.

"My name's Maddy." You quickly lied and observed his reaction. "You don't seem to be Japanese, so it's realistic for you to have a foreign name. Were you raised in Japan?" He asked you and you nodded. "Ok, Maddy. My name's Tsukasa. Last names don't have a meaning in this stone world anyway, don't they?" He asked and you nodded, smiling at him.

"You seem to be a kind person, Tsukasa. Thank you for being polite with me." You complimented him and Tsukasa nodded. "I...have to tell you something. I have an enemy, Maddy. He caught me being suspicious of him by saying that complimenting people without context indicates something fishy." He looked at you and gave you a serious look. "He also was petrified one year ago." He said and your eyes grew wide. You needed to overplay your reaction quickly since he already suspected you.

"Wow really?? There was another person depetrified for such a long time and I didn't meet them!! I must have been very lucky if they are your enemy." You rambled and his eyes softened. "Hmm, you don't seem to know him then. Sorry for suspecting you, Maddy." He apologized and you internally sighed in relief. His enemy is very unlucky to have Shishio Tsukasa himself as his enemy. ...Wait a minute. Unlucky??

"Who is your enemy anyway, Tsukasa?" You asked him and he smiled. "His name is Senku." He said and your heart skipped a beat. You didn't hear his name for such a long time now... But you expected that it was Senku. Only he would be this unlucky...

"He tries to bring humanity back with science. All of humanity, meaning that he also wants to revive the old people with their tainted souls." He said and you nodded, indicating to him that you agreed with him, which you in truth didn't. Why did he think that old people were bad people?

"I'm glad you seem to be ok, Maddy." He told you and smiled again. You also smiled and nodded. "Thank you, Tsukasa. Where do you stay anyway? My place is very unstable since my crafting skills aren't best..." you told him and he chuckled. "If you want to you could stay with me. You won't have to worry for food anymore, since I am good at fighting and hunting." He said and you faked an overjoyed reaction.

"What, really?? This is too much to ask for, Tsukasa!" You exclaimed in joy and continued to carefully distract from yourself. If he'd find your underground quarter you would be doomed. The little shelter you built for yourself seemed to be very useful it seems. He thinks that you only made the shelter when you in reality built an underground quarter with all kinds of stuff inside.
