I woke up suddenly out of my sleep to my phone repeatedly going off. I groaned and looked at my alarm clock on my bedside cupboard. 2:30 AM. Who the fuck is calling me at 2 in the morning? I sighed and tried to grab my phone before it woke up Toni. But it was too late she started moving in her sleep. "Cher-yl?" she called out.
"I'm trying to grab it," I whispered. I finally grabbed my phone.

I looked at Jughead's message, and I got really worried. I quickly called Jughead back, and seconds later, he answered.
"Jughead, hey, what happened to Betty?" I asked. Toni sat up and looked at me.
"Uh, Bet-ty wo-ke up ab-out an hour ag-o to go t-o the bath-room, and uh, I wen-t to help h-er and sh-e lik-e fain-ted and h-hit the grou-nd ha-rd," Jughead stuttered out. My heart dropped.
"WHAT! Jug, please tell me she's okay?" I questioned and I got out of bed. Toni tilted her head in confusion.
"We-we don't know, sh-e hasn-t wok-en up,"
My eyes widen. I don't want to lose my cousin. "Wha-what about you're son?" I stuttered, not wanting to know the answer. If Jughead loses Betty, he can't lose his son too.
"The do-ctor's sa-id tha-t he's okay," he breathed out. "Archie and Ronnie just got here. Do you think you can come down too?" he asked me.
"Of course, We'll be there in ten," I said. I hung up the phone and ran my hands through my hair. I tried to breathe but it hitched and Toni noticed.
"What happened to Betty?" she answered me.
"I- uhm Betty fainted and she won't wake up," I told her with tears in my eyes.
"What? What about the baby?" Toni questioned.
"The doctors say he's fine. But Jug wants us to get to the hospital," I said.
Toni got up and hugged me, "Is she going to be, okay?" she cooed in my ear. I hope so.
Both Toni and I quietly got dressed in comfortable clothes. I walked downstairs and Leo barked at me. "Shh, baby, go back to your bed," I whispered. He whined before walking off to the lounge room again.
Toni drove us to the hospital and I got out of the car before she could really park. She grabbed my hand to calm me down a bit. We walked up to reception, "Hi, I'm looking for a patient. Bet-Elizabeth Jones," I asked.
"Right down the hall," the lady answered. Toni and I made our way to the end of the hallway and in the waiting room, I saw Archie hold onto Veronica for dear life and Jughead bouncing his legs. All three of them had red and puffy eyes.
"Jug, Jug, how is she?" I asked.
"The-y sai-d that i-f she doesn-t wak-e up soon that they-ll have to d-o an emer-gency c-section," he sobbed.
"Mea-meaning that Betty won-t wake up aft-er. Would sh-she?" I stuttered.
Jughead nodded and put his head in his hands, "Cheryl, I can't lose her, she's the love of my life," he muttered into his hands. I looked down at the broken man and hugged him tightly. Jughead and I were never close but I know what it feels like to nearly lose the love of your life. Especially after Toni had her motorbike accident three years ago. I sat down next to Jughead as Toni sat next to me.
"Babe, she's going to be okay," Toni whispered in my eye and then kissed my cheek.
--2 Hours Later-- (4:42 AM)
I slowly moved my head off Toni's shoulder after a nap and looked around seeing that I was still in the waiting room at the hospital. Jughead was biting his nails he paced the room slowly.
An elderly nurse walked into the room, "Family of Elizabeth Jones?" he asked. The five of us looked at him and stood up straight away, "Elizabeth is..." everything the nurse said was a blur, I saw Jughead run away from the doctor and over to Betty's room. Archie started breathing heavily and Veronica had tears in her eyes.
Toni was hugging me from behind, "It's going to be fine," Toni kept whispering in my ear.
