Episode 1 - 1: Catastrophe

"The skies getting darker again..." Doctor commented, looking up as the large group traversed the wrecked streets of Chernobog.

"The shape of the Catastrophe cloud is more clearly defined than the black haze it was before. I don't like the feeling I get from watching it form over our heads. What a bad omen." Dobermann observed. "To make things worse, Reunion goons might be lurking in every nook and cranny." Dobermann said with a sigh.

"What you should've said is that they're probably partying on the streets." Nearl added. "Yup. Just about every street is filled destruction, carnage, violence, looting. Vehicles and buildings are on fire. They think it's the perfect weather for a picnic..." Doctor said with a wry smirk. "If they're going out on a picnic now, it's the Catastrophe that will feast upon their bones. This proves that most Reunion members are just fools who've been whipped into a frenzy." Nearl responded.

Everyone walked in silence and stared at her quietly making her look around in confusion. Amiya stifled a laugh, but eventually let it out as everyone smiled.

"I was being sarcastic. There's no picnic..." Doctor said with an amused smile. "Oh, you weren't being serious? Wait, were you trying to crack a joke? Hmm... Sorry, I'm not good with this stuff..." Nearl said a little flustered. "No problem. Sorry for making a joke at such a perilous time." Doctor said waving her apology off.

"It's okay, Doctor. Rhodes Island wasn't founded for the sake of having everyone keep a serious face. We've always wanted everyone to be able to smile." Amiya said making Doctor nod.

"In any case, let's help out with the scouting. I'll quietly dispatch the enemy at four o'clock." Dobermann said nodding towards a small group of Reunion members causing mischief. "Hopefully their diseased organs won't explode or be rigged to serve as some kind of alarm." Dobermann said walking over.

"We'll wrap around and take care of the larger group on the other side of the fortification. With this much chaos, nobody will notice a little more noise." Ace said taking his team.

"Oh! I wanna help-" Doctor started, but Nearl grabbed his hood. "Hm?" The Doctor questioned. "We shouldn't risk letting you fight unless need be. Our mission is to escort you, Doctor." Nearl scolded. "But I can help. I've been doing pretty good for my first fights ever." Doctor said shadow boxing as she lifted him up and back behind her. "Unacceptable. We shouldn't have let you beforehand." Nearl said with a sigh.

"What? Amiya, tell her how cool I was! I was taking out Reunion left and right!" Doctor said crossing his arms. "Sorry, Doctor. While you were our only powerhouse earlier, now that we have more allies, you shouldn't fight so recklessly." Amiya said with small frown, but on the inside she was awing at his defiance.

"See? Now stay behind me." Nearl said happily. "Ugh. Now I feel useless..." Doctor said rolling his eyes.

"We have less than an hour left. We can't afford to make a detour... The more time we waste, the more likely we are to get caught in the Catastrophe. We need to cut directly across this area." Dobermann said after returning from scouting. "However, we won't be able to conceal our movements anymore given the size of our forces. The possibility of getting ambushed when we're navigating through narrow streets is very high..." She stated.

"What's the plan?" Nearl asked. "We don't have many options... Doctor, what's you assessment?" Dobermann asked.

"Easy. The time it takes for them to regroup. We rush in, charge through, all before they can react or rally anymore." The Doctor said glancing over. "Hm. From what I've observed through our past battles, Reunion's communication methods are absolutely primitive." Dobermann agreed. "If we do this quickly, by the time they're able to regroup and mount an effort to stop us," Nearl realized. "We'll already be long gone by the time they get into formation." Dobermann finished. "Sounds good. We'll storm them, disrupt their formation, destroy their firebase, and then fall back quickly." Nearl agreed as well.
