"We made it...! We've not only managed to shake off Reunion, but the Catastrophe is also visibly weakening!" Nearl exclaimed. At her side was the Doctor, who she didn't let out of her sight. "Even so, everyone, continue to exercise caution!" Nearl requested."The streets are now buried underneath rubble, and collapsed buildings are blocking all the roads..." Amiya observed. "Is the Originium already beginning to metastasize...?" Dobermann asked. "We're almost there, but everything is blocking our way! If we can just... just..." Dobermann trailed off with a frown.
"They're here." Ace announced.
"Damn... that's a lot of guys..." Doctor said nervously, the overwhelming amount of troops arriving making even him worried. "They didn't just catch up to us..." Dobermann started. "They're..." she trailed off in disbelief. They were completely surrounded. "Everywhere." Nearl finished, a determined glare still on her face. "From the plaza, the streets, the buildings, and even all the ruins..." Dobermann listed as more and more appeared, as endless as the sea. "Look at those numbers... Hah... that explains their lack of fear unless their death was imminent..." Dobermann said quietly.
"...Don't stop moving! We'll continue moving towards our retreat route! We're done for if we stop in a wide-open area! At least make it to the plaza's exit before regrouping!" Nearl commanded despite everyone's declining hope. "Nearl..." Amiya muttered. "We have to fight. After we break through their line, we'll slip out in the ensuing chaos." Nearl informed. "Are you sure it'll work?" Amiya questioned. "The chance is slim, but we're out of options. But... Even if they out number us ten-to-one, if they're just a bunch of thugs, we still have a chance! Stay calm! Prepare for battle! Defensive formations!" Nearl ordered, refusing to give in. Despite this, even she in the presence of thousands grew doubtful.
"There are too many... Way too many of them..." She whispered. "Where did Reunion find all these Infected?" She asked. "We're completely surrounded..." Dobermann said, and true to her words, there was no where left to run. "I never asked for this kind of respect from Reunion." She spat shaking her head.
"Only a single enemy is approaching our defensive line!" The Guard announced.
The woman from before, Talulah, adorned in a dress that seemed to glow orange from the hem, a regal aura radiating from her cold gaze. Her shining silver hair blew beyond her, and her dragon like antlers stood tall atop her head.
"She... according to our intel, she's..." Amiya trailed off. "There's something peculiar about her scent." Nearl observed. "Nearl..." Dobermann questioned. "I can't exactly put my finger on it, but... it's the smell of steel and sulfur. As if something was burning. If it really is fire, then... " Nearl analyzed. "All Operators... be on maximum alert." Amiya demanded with caution. "That person is... Reunion's ruler...Talulah." Amiya revealed.
"Oh, that ain't good..." Doctor said peeking out from behind Nearl.
"I reckon her flames are powerful enough to swallow Terra entirely. Amiya, take the Doctor with you. Go, now!" Nearl shouted. "No! I won't leave you..." Amiya retorted. "Surely, you can feel it as well! She... if you don't leave, the entire rescue team will die here! That Talulah... She is a living monster! Amiya!" Nearl shouted again. "We'll be fine, as long as we stand together!" Amiya said defiantly. "What about the Doctor, then? Can you ensure his safety?" Nearl asked, warning silence from Amiya.
"Team E4, we will stay behind and hold the line! We must ensure that Amiya, the Doctor, and the Medic teams escape safely!" Nearl announced. "No, my squad will handle this." Ace intervened. "Ace! Be rational, now's not the time to argue over this!" Nearl said sternly. "I am rational." Ace said bluntly. "Surely you can see it as well- everything around her is melting!" Nearl yelled.
