Episode 9 - 5: Pave the Way

Crashing through the front doors of the City Hall, Angel held Ceylon protectively in his arms.

Correcting his position and sliding against the pavement, citizens watched as the bodyguards rushed out of the hall in full sprint for the two.

With Ceylon still in his arms, the Doctor slammed his foot into one's temple, making him crash into his comrade and topple a few over to his left.

Spinning away from a lunge, The Doctor straight-kicked their torso and sent them into a car parked on the curb.

Trying to escape before getting surrounded again, Angel had to roll on his back and leap out of the way of several crossbow bolts being fired at his legs.

Ceylon looked up and saw Schwarz land from atop a building, equipment in hand yet still in her swimwear.

"Cronin's orders are now the mayor's orders... Everyone, advance." Schwarz said flatly.

"What...? Why?!" Ceylon asked as Angel began to slowly back away. "Do you think I'm doing this for fun, too?!" Ceylon yelled in pain.

"Listen, they wouldn't be trying to hush us if we were wrong— we can't stay here! We have to do something about our—"

Angel's heartbeat grew louder.

'Oh fuck.'

"We have to go." Angel whispered, holding her tighter as he spun on his heels and sprinted down the street, leaping over pedestrians and civilians.

"They're currently fleeing towards the beach!" A bodyguard shouted.

"Damn, it's too crowded. We can't give chase."

"Call the sentry at the beach. Surround them!"

"Get back here!" Schwarz shouted at Angel, disregarding the crowd and trudging through.

Leaping off of lampposts, traffic lights, and street signs, Angel made sure to keep Ceylon out of harm's way.

Aiming her crossbow for his lower body and where he'd land, Schwarz came incredibly close to hitting him with his lack of footing.

Having to nearly use 100% to escape a bolt, the Doctor roughly landed on top of a traffic light, and slipped.

Since he slipped, Ceylon was now vulnerable as Schwarz fired at them, making her gasp at her trigger finger.

Angel spun around and tried to deflect it away with his electromagnetism, but it wasn't working for whatever reason. With the bolt nearing his back, he bit his lip and hoped it wouldn't pierce him.

The sudden clash of metal made him land in the street with widened eyes, watching as someone landed with him.

"Go, Doctor. I'll handle things here." A man in a cloak stated. His defining features were his long white hair, with neon highlights on one of the small wings positioned straight upward out of his head, the other gray, a rich goatee, and the calm gaze in his eyes.

"You're...!" Ceylon had no time to acknowledge him as Angel nodded, leaping away again and getting back into a grove.

Schwarz stood off against a highly regarded Operator... Hellugar.

Angel almost crashed into the sand from leaping all the way from the street. The sand that kicked up unfortunately displayed his location, and he now had less footing to run with than the street.

"Milady," A dozen bodyguards had flanked seeing the Doctor's slip, and now had him cornered on the beach. "Please come back with us."

"No! I know what we discovered is true!" Ceylon shouted.
