The blaring sound of my alarm jolted me awake. I groaned and tapped my bedside table for my phone. The light from the gadget stands out against the darkness of the bedroom. The time was 7:50, and I immediately sat up. Stupid! I'm running late!
I dashed to the en-suite bathroom and quickly showered. In my haste, I grabbed the first outfit I could find in the closet and put it on. By 7:57, I'm out the door and on my way to Ground Alpha, where the class 1-A is located. I didn't intend to snooze my alarm until this late. This was a habit I had when I was single, but I'm now used to Shouta waking me up.
Principal Nezu asked me to assist in training the students from the hero course yesterday. They have just returned from their internships, and we will be evaluating their progress. They are divided into four groups based on the companions they have during their work studies. Each group will be supervised by Midnight, Present Mic, All Might, or Eraserhead.
Each group is separated by a wall built by Cementoss the day before. I requested that he do so. Because my role is to attack the groups unannounced and unknowingly, I must ensure that the other groups are unaware that I am the day's villain. This is also an excellent opportunity for me to improve my abilities and learn from the students.
The moment I stepped foot in Ground Alpha, I noticed the time was 8:00. I quickly hid myself and my presence in the shadows. Scanning the area, I notice that Cementoss built a large circular platform that is separated by a tall wall. The arena resembles a giant pie, with each piece containing five students who are now occupied with defeating robots.
Yaoyorozu, Jiro, Shoji, Ojiro, and Sato make up the group closest to me. After witnessing their collaboration, my lips curved upwards into a smirk. This is going to be difficult. My eyes are already glistening with excitement. I braced myself and activated my quirk as I approached them. I played out the exact scenario in the arena, minus myself, to give the impression that everything is normal and that I am not about to attack them. I made myself appear invisible.
Extending the limits of my quirk has taken a toll on my body over the years, but the training has paid off. My quirk can accommodate up to ten people. Although I would use my quirk quickly in missions to avoid easily burning out, that doesn't mean I'm not pushing myself to be better. I've always believed that there are parts of our quirks that we don't yet understand and that it has a lot of potential to be something even better.
As soon as Present Mic saw me, he gave me his trademark annoying grin. I ignored him and concentrated on the students as I rushed through. Jiro turned to face me right away, even though she couldn't see me.
"Someone's here, guys," she warned her teammates, who were engaged in a battle with the robots.
"He's over there," she said, pointing with her arm. "He's running, based on the vibrations."
Jiro made me happy, so I smirked. Unexpected attacks are impossible with this group as long as Jiro and Shoji are present, but I'd like to play a little. Ojiro positioned himself in front of me, his eyes sweeping the area.
"Is he invisible? I can't see him," Ojiro says. Okay, then! As I approached him, I sidestepped as quickly as possible so that I could stand behind his back.
"Ojiro, he's moved behind you!" Shoji screamed as he punched the robot's head cleanly off its body.
Ojiro's tail whips the space behind me in an instant. He reacted in less than a second after Shoji's warning, which surprised me. I took a step back instinctively, but when I sensed the presence of another incoming fist, I crouched down. I extended my right leg and did a full 360-degree turn, knocking the two fighters down. Sato was the first to recover, and he was punching the air blindly when Yaoyorozu spoke.
