As the last-minute meeting concludes, crowds pour out of the meeting hall. Tomorrow is the big day, and every last detail is being worked out. I sighed as I followed the other heroes to Shouta, who was waiting near the entrance.
"Are you ready to go home?" he asks, holding out his hand for me to take.
"Yes," I said tiredly, still feeling the effects of the long meeting.
My husband did nothing but nod and lead me to the parking lot. Before returning to UA, we made a stop at McDonald's to get our daughter a Happy Meal, which she had been requesting for quite some time. It didn't take long for us to get to our house.
Eri dashed towards the door as soon as she heard the sound of our car's engine. Her eyes widen with delight as she notices me getting out of the car. Her eyes brightened even more when she saw the familiar red box in my hand.
"Mama, you've arrived! " she ran towards me- well, on the Happy Meal if I'm being honest.
I raised the box above my head and glared at her playfully, "Uh uh, young lady. Where're my kisses first?"
She chuckled sweetly and tugged on my hand, urging me to approach her. Bending down to her level, she opened her arms wide and gave me one of her best hugs before kissing my cheeks. Every time she showers me with affection, my heart melts. It's times like this that make me realize how fortunate I am to be her mother.
"Ehem," we turned to Shouta, who had interrupted our mother-daughter moment. For that, I almost snarled at him. Nearly.
"What about me, Eri-chan? Are there no kisses for Papa?"
Our child laughed, as if she found her father's words amusing, and ran towards him. Eri hugged and kissed Shouta as he carried her in his arms. When her gaze was drawn to her father, I pouted a little.
"Papa! Did you know that cats are aware of their cuteness?"
"Are you sure? How did you know that?"
"I saw it on YouTube."
As the two entered the house, I couldn't hear the rest of their conversation. At this point, I'm not sure if I'm jealous because Eri seems to like Shouta more, or because Shouta is gentler with our daughter. I shook my head and laughed quietly at my own foolishness.
I followed the two inside, but the first thing I saw was Nemuri-senpai sprawled across the sofa. Her eyes are closed, and she rests one hand on her stomach. She was keeping an eye on Eri while we were at the meeting. I set the happy meal on the table and made a ginger and lemon tea with a few biscuits.
I placed the steaming beverage in the center of the table and gently shook her. When she fluttered her eyes open and saw me, she sat up straight. The sudden action makes her feel nauseous, but thankfully she did not vomit and felt better after sipping the tea I had prepared for her.
she grumbled while affectionately stroking her belly.
"It's normal for a pregnant woman," I countered.
Yes, the hero known as 'Midnight,' Nemuri-senpai, is carrying a child. A quick trip to Recovery Girl a month ago revealed that she is two months pregnant. Her period is always irregular, which is why she didn't notice it right away. Hizashi is so dazed that he unconsciously used his quirk when expressing his shock, allowing the entire UA to hear the news instantly.
"I'm approaching my second trimester, and it appears that the morning sickness isn't going away any time soon," she groaned.
"How does Hizashi hold up in the face of all of this?"
