After a NCAA tournament appearance last spring, the Clarkson Golden Knights open the 2018-19 season at Pegula Ice Arena as they square off against Penn State this weekend in State College. Jake Kielly and Chris Funkey matched zeros in the first period so, we'll skate to a scoreless, first intermission tie. With 17:44 left in the second period, Nico Sturm scored his first goal of the season to make it 1-0 Tech. With 10:50 left in the second period, Sam Sternschein scored to tie the game 1-1. Kielly and Funkey matched zeros for the remainder of the period so, we'll skate to a 1-1, second intermission tie. With 18:29 left in the third period, Liam Folkes scored to make it 2-1 Penn State. With 18:10 left in the third period, Haradls Egle scored his first goal of the season to tie the game 2-2. With 17:37 left in the third period, Nate Sucese scored to make it 3-2 Nittany Lions. With 16:48 left in the third period, Greg Moro scored his first goal of the season to tie the game 3-3. With 8:59 left in the third period, Brandon Biro scored to make it 4-3 Penn State. Chris Funkey finished off the Golden Knights so, Penn State wins 4-3. Clarkson dropped to 0-1-0 on the season.
