A/N: Before you read this: the conversations will be written in English, but imagine them speaking German. That's all, enjoy the story :)

The first week after moving to Germany was much more chaotic than y/n had imagined. The largest part of the house was already furnished so they didn't have to buy massive things like a couch. Though it seemed like they had gone to a furniture shop almost every day that week. They still had to decorate the house, so that's what they did on Monday and Tuesday. It still wasn't completely decorated by then but it was a good start. Then they realised that they still hadn't bought anything for the kitchen as they'd been eating take-out the first two days, so that's what they did on Wednesday. You'd think you don't need a full day for that. well, normally they wouldn't but their mom needed everything to be perfect so they had driven from store to store until they found the utensils their mom had approved off in the fourth store.

But between all the stressful moments y/n was still having fun, and moving to a new country wasn't as bad as it seemed. When they would finally come home after driving through the whole town, y/n would go explore the cute spots on her bike. It was a hilly town, which created beautiful look-outs where y/n would watch many sunsets together with the one she would later on fall for, though she didn't know that yet.

It felt so different than Cambridge, that big buzzing city where it was never fully silent. But not in a bad way, this was a small town next to stuttgart where children could still play on the streets and it seemed as if everyone was nice there. Their neighbour, for example, came to welcome them to town the first day they had moved in. In Cambridge she didn't even know who her neighbours were after living there for over 15 years.

She had always dreamed of living in the nature and some place that wasn't all crowded like Cambridge. And this village was exactly the type she wanted, it was small, but not lifeless. It had a small city centre with cute shops, little restaurants and cafes and even a small, old cinema that y/n couldn't wait to check out on the inside. She also went to visit the high school they had enrolled her in and it seemed so small in comparison to where she went before, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing, maybe she might even get to know her whole grade.

When everything was settled in to the new house and it started to feel like a home, things finally became a little more tranquil again. The stress of her mother had visibly decreased, she didn't yell at her brother anymore for being lazy and she let y/n go out of the house more often and without interogating her about where she was going.

After their shopping week, vacation seemed to fly by. They went out and had fun or stayed inside and played boardgames whilst it was raining outside. The weather was just as unpredictable here as in England, that was one thing that hadn't changed. She also gave Luna a tour of the house and they kept in touch throughout the coming weeks.

Y/n also went back to the field of sunflowers, like she had known the moment she first saw it, and made it her usual getaway spot. When walking through it one day, she noticed a noise that sounded like flowing water and walked towards it. She saw a little river that eventually led to a pond, which was surrounded by high grass and some cute, and colourful flowers. It was a pretty silent spot, and it seemed like not much people had been here before since it was still overgrown. That didn't bother y/n though.

Often when it became to much for her she just grabbed her coat, some headphones and her notebook and rode her bike there, her family didn't know about it yet, so it was perfect. She would draw little insects she'd see passing by or frogs that would sit around the pond or on the lilies. It had a very calming effect on her.

Soon it was suddenly the thirty first of August and y/n had to get everything ready for school, which would start the next day. She put every book they needed, a notebook and her pencil case in her bag and put it at the door from her room.
