Normal, boring day. One of many, you get it if you go to school.
Hate to say it, but having a boyfriend made y/n's life at least a little more interesting. No regrets on breaking up though. But still, cuddles are nice.
It's a Wednesday, great day, but they had math first period, followed by English lecture, bad combo. Although mathematics is one of y/n's favourite courses, it doesn't deserve that title in the mornings.
To make it all even worse, she didn't have her coffee this morning, because her, oh so lovely, brother had come home drunk at 1 am and bumped over the coffeemaker on his way to the toilet. And then people dare to say she is 'lucky' to have a sibling. Yeah right. So coffee was off the table this morning. Literally.
Oh and it's raining, so hard that they canceled athletics practice, which was supposed to take place in the afternoon. Sounds like a day from a Hollywood film about depressed teens, don't you think? Well, depressed was a term y/n felt like getting really close to seeing a grumpy Lena approach at their spot in the hallway, not under the tree thanks to the rain today.
"I know I'm not supposed to, but I'm really close to slapping you God." Y/n muttered under her breath, making Manon, who was standing next to her, snort.
"Jesus Lena, you look terrible." Luca joked. Well not really joked, because it was true. She had huge dark circles under her eyes and her hair almost counted as a bird's nest, obviously not brushed.
She was wearing black jeans with a dark blue shirt with it. It didn't look very bad, but it didn't match either. And Lena's clothes always match. It's not just y/n's opinion, it's objectively true, she's a fashion queen. Not today apparently.
She gave him a quick, uninterested look and then for some reason stared right into y/n's soul. "Oh, I didn't notice yet, Sherlock Holmes." She said with a sharp bite in her tone.
"Sorry just saying," he had his hands in the air, like someone was about to shoot him.
"What's wrong?" Lisa chirped in.
There was a loud sigh coming from Lena's mouth "Grace cheated on me with a football player, I saw them." she said, and for once, y/n felt compassion for her again.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I know you really liked her." Lisa tried to comfort her sister and hugged her. "Maybe it's for the best though," Lena looked at her with a confused sort of glare, "I mean you're still young so you should have fun instead of already searching for love that won't last anyway." Lisa explained herself.
"Yeah, I guess you have a point." she admitted staring at her shoes and giving y/n a quick glance, leaving her even more in shock than she already was.
"It's okay to miss her, you know, but just... don't let her absence ruin your life at this moment." Y/n hesitantly told the girl, who was still looking at her shoelaces.
Lena looked up, surprised to hear y/n speaking to her again, after what she did she didn't expect to hear y/n's voice anymore, ever. "Yeah, yeah I guess you're right. I shouldn't do that." She knew there was more behind that sentence than y/n actually said, it felt like it was a reminder more to herself than to Lena.
An uncomfortable silence followed, some people too stunned to speak and others too weirded out. "Anyway- I'm going to the toilet before the bell goes." Lisa tried to save their awkwardness.
"Oh yeah smart, me too." Said Manon. "I'm going with you guys" Another girl chimed in.
"Well, then I'm going to the boys." Luca said and the other guys followed him. Escaping whatever it was that just happened.
