Sorry for missing last week, I'll try not to let it happen again, and I hope you enjoy :)

Ness and Lucas were out on walk, headed to their favorite ice cream place. It was just a few blocks away from Lucas' house, making for an easy walk. It was the perfect day as well, being sunny with not a cloud in the sky.

The two were walking side by side, down the rather wide sidewalk. The street that they were on wasn't overly large, but wasn't small by any means, which made for minimal traffic. Both Ness and Lucas preferred it this way, rather than the usual bustling nature of the city. The sidewalk was also quite empty, which made sense, as it was pretty late into the day.

"And then at, like, 4 a.m he starts yelling about planting a bomb or something. He just won't shut the fuck up," Lucas complained, rather loudly. However, since the streets were empty, this wasn't much of a problem.

"Mhm...that's real bad," Ness responded, a hint of audible apathy in his voice. It's not that he didn't care about Lucas' problems, it's just the fact that he had heard this same exact story ad nauseum.

Lucas turned to look at Ness and squinted his eyes a little, skepticism overtaking his face. "Why do I feel like you don't care about anything I just said."

"Well It's not that, It's just I've heard this same anecdote about Claus screaming in the middle of the night so many times."

"Well, are you even listening to them?"

"Wasn't that last one about him yelling some inane garbage about a Chug Jug?"

"...Fair enough."

The two boys continued to walk down the sidewalk, until they reached the block where the Ice Cream Shop resided on. However, this block was much more crowed than the others that the boys had walked to get there. Upon further inspection, it could be noted that the blocks after the Ice Cream shop were also rather full of people. This made sense, as that was the way to the more built up part of the city. Everyone was gathered around a shop across the street from the Ice Cream shop, and were waiting in long lines just to get into the store. It was a sports goods store, and they were having a sale. Half off all things round.

Ness groaned slightly at the sight of the large crowd. He was enjoying the mild serenity, which had now been forcefully removed from his grasp. It's not like he was afraid of crowds or anything, he just preferred there to be less people around.

Both boys looked back and forth before crossing the street, and stepping onto the block. Despite being quite crowded, the area where the Ice Cream Shop sat was rather clear of people. Ness smiled a little, as both him and Lucas entered the shop.

The inside of the shop was quite quaint, having an old timey theming to it. Along the right side of the room rested a bar, with stools. The back of the room had booths, and the left was where the ice cream counter was. The boys approached the counter, already knowing what they wanted to get.

The worker looked at both of the boys, and smiled. "What'll it be?"

"Two scoops of chocolate, one scoop of mint. In a cup, please," The worker nodded, and began to get Lucas' ice cream ready.

"Couldn't you just get one scoop of mint chocolate in a cone instead?" Ness asked, knowing full well the answer Lucas was going to give.

"Nah, that's more mint than chocolate. My way's much better," Ness nodded, fully expecting that response.

Ness looked through the ice cream, which was displayed behind a glass shield. He eventually decided, and looked up at the worker. "Can I have two scoops is raspberry please?"

The worker nodded, and went to get the ice creams. After a short while, he handed both Ness and Lucas their sweet treats. Lucas' ice cream looked like a mountain compared to Ness' measly little molehill of a desert.

Both boys walked out of the shop, satisfied with their respective ice cream's, and began to walk back home while eating their cold treats. Not many words were exchanged by the two during this period, as they were working away on their cold treats.

Both boys walked a few more blocks, eating away their ice cream. As they were about to cross the street, Ness looked up from his ice cream and noticed something. More accurately, someone. It was a girl, about his age, standing on the other block. She was wearing a pink dress, and had a red bow in her blonde hair. As Ness saw her, his eyes widened. He quickly grabbed Lucas' hand, pivoted to the left, and started to walk that way instead.

Ness' sudden movement jerked Lucas around a little, almost so that he dropped his ice cream. "Where are we going?" Lucas asked, looking back to see what might've caused Ness to suddenly move like that.

"My ex was that way."

"Oh, Paula? Why don't we go say hi?" Ness stopped for a moment, and turned to look at Lucas.

"You and I both know why that's a terrible idea," Ness responded, in a serious tone. Lucas thought for a moment, before nodding in agreement.

The two boys continued to walk down their new path, still eating their ice cream. The way they were walking now was actually the complete opposite way from their houses, but neither of them minded, as all it meant was an extension for their walk.

The area they were walking in was...slightly less accepting than where they lived. No outright harassment, but a certain word was oft-dropped in that area of the city.

Lucas and Ness walked for a little while, until they were on the block that they needed to turn from to get back home. Both boys had finished their ice cream by now, and had thrown out the cup and sleeves in the trash. They were walking in front of a small local bakery, when they heard a commotion coming from the inside. Normally they would just keep walking, but this time was different. The customer inside the bakery was slightly angry, and Lucas was able to pick up on a certain word that the man said. Normally, they would keep walking, but Lucas had come up with an idea earlier that month which he wanted try out.

He looked over at Ness and smiled slightly. Ness sighed, knowing what Lucas was thinking. "Can we do it?" Lucas asked, eagerly.

"I don't know..." Ness scratched the back of his neck, not sure if he wanted to. In an instant, Lucas turned on his puppy dog eyes. Lucas knew that Ness could legitimately never say no to that face. Ness sighed, and ruffled Lucas' hair a little. "Fine...let's do it."

Lucas smiled from ear to ear, and grabbed Ness by the collar. He lightly slammed Ness into the wall, and began to passionately kiss him. It looked so passionate, in fact, that it almost looked like something out of a movie or TV show. They did this for a few minutes, until the man walked out of the bakery. The man stopped for a second, and an audible "ugh" could be heard coming from him. He then began to move again, walking away. Ness and Lucas' embrace broke mere seconds after the man left their sight.

Lucas looked Ness in the eyes, and smiled. "Wish I could've seen his face."

"Yeah...that was fun, I wish we could do it more," Lucas nodded, and grabbed Ness' hand.

He and Ness had a nice walk home, no more run in's to speak of.
