Here we are, the Finale to the first arc of these Oneshots, posted exactly 1 year after my first oneshot. I just want to thank all of you who've been reading these over the year, it really means a lot to me. I know all this lore has probably been tiring, so don't worry, I'm gonna cool it on the lore heavy shit. Just a small warning, there is a rape scene in the story. I put up clear markers that would allow you to skip it, if it makes you feel uncomfortable.
I spent a lot of time and effort on this finale, so I'll probably be taking a break next week to recover. Anywho, I'm about to go start my annual playthrough of Persona 5 Royal. I really hope you enjoy this Nesscas Finale :D

Subspace. An empty void of existence, where everything is nothing and nothing is everything. Subspace is the very fabric of what universes are made of, and what is between them. Both a material, a place, and a thing, it's true tangible nature is unknown to all that have laid eyes on it. It is a black piece of paper, waiting to be written on. And then, it was.
But before then, something else came into existence. A man. The man then created a ship, and then a crew, and then an organization. This man and his organization would travel across the Omniverse, observing all it had to offer. He and his organization would have countless logs, databases, and general storage of information. Their name? ICEN.
ICEN would continue traversing the Omniverse, furthering their goal of data collection. But they didn't only collect data. They did experiments, and lots of them. The tested the true potential of the spirit particles within Subspace, and were able to develop weapons with them. They tested how to remove spirits from the body, and essentially give a body the same blankness as Subspace itself. They also tested virtual worlds, how accurate of a world they could make simply through artificial means. This was by far their most successful experiment.
Through the use of a machine built by one of ICEN's top scientist's, they were able to simulate virtual worlds and stories through simple cartridges. But the most fascinating part was that those inside the cartridge believed themselves to be alive. They would often divert from the beaten path that was programmed into them. This almost caused the program to get shut down, as it was deemed a failure. However, the top scientist took a new approach. He modified the cartridges to make them full of simulations, with sentient life inside. Not knowing their world was entirely simulated, the people inside the cartridge would go about their existence, thinking they were real.
And it proved successful, the first test worked. However, there was one problem. The people within the cartridge were entirely made up by the scientist, and because of this, they had no spirit. This inevitably caused the simulation to fail, and everyone within it to die.
After more testing and research, the scientist determined two things were needed to keep a simulation active for eternity. Spirit and Destiny. The first could be achieved by basing the people inside of the simulations off real people within the Omniverse. That was the easy part, it was Destiny that was a little more tricky to accomplish.
The main proponents of the cartridge had to have some sort of Destiny within them. Be it destined for rivalry, death,...or love. However, if destiny is forced, the outcome won't always be desirable. Glitches, self-awareness, and ability to recognize the world around them were all commonplace in simulations with forced destiny. And yet, the scientist pushed onward, ignoring their vital flaws. Despite every conclusion telling him not to use these two individuals, he persisted on. It could've been belief, or obsession. But nevertheless, he focused all of his efforts on two beings.
