Right Time, Right Place

Part 18

Wedding day :) October 9th.

Amelia's POV:

I wake up in the morning in bed beside Carmen. Owen's mom insisted we go the traditional route and don't see each other at all on our wedding day, so he stayed at his moms house. However, I hate sleeping alone especially when I was so nervous last night so I made Carmen sleep with me. I feel the wave of nausea hit me, I sigh and I get out of bed. I kneel down by the toilet and throw up. Since about a week after we found out I was pregnant I have been horrendously sick and in pain. Owen normally gets up with me and helps so it sucks that he isn't here. The door opens and Carmen walks in and holds my hair back.

"Honey you don't have to do this" I cough into the toilet and sigh.

Carmen rubs my back, "It's okay mom. I want to help. What does dad normally do?"

I rub my face, "Can you get me water? And something small like a banana or something please."

As she leaves to go downstairs I stand up and brush my teeth. I pull my hair back and sit down on the bed. I text Owen : Carmen was so sweet and helped me this morning. I missed you though.

Carmen comes back in and gives me a bottle of water and a banana. "Here you go. Do you need anything else?"

"No I'm okay until the next wave comes" I sigh and sip the water.

"Is this an all day thing?" She asks as she sits down next to me.

"Oh yeah. I feel like crap 90% of the time. I've also been in a lot of pain lately. Dad and I are gonna talk to Arizona about that to see what I can do to help, cause the baby is healthy my small body just can't handle it."

Carmen hugs me, "you're so strong mom"

I smile big and tear up, "Carmen stop it you can't make me cry yet."

We are at the venue now and I'm in the room with Meredith, Maggie, Megan and Carmen. I'm sitting there sipping water so I don't get sick again and suddenly I get really nervous.

"I want Owen." I say out loud looking at my dress on the door

"Amelia what's wrong?" Megan comes over and sits next to me.

"I just need him. I need to see him. I need to talk to him." I start crying and at this point I don't even know why. Megan calls him and a few minutes later there is a knock on the door.

"Amelia?" I hear his voice and I run over to the door and put my head against it. "Owen"

"Hey, what's wrong? Is it the baby? Are you in pain?" He asks me clearly worried.

"No, I just needed to hear your voice to relax. Can you close your eyes. I will close my eyes too I just need to hug you."

"They are closed." He says and I open the door and hug him with my eyes closed. I hold onto him tightly and finally relax for the first time today. He pulls back and kisses my cheek.

I take a deep breath, "alright I'm good. I'm gonna get my dressed on and I will see you soon."

"You are going to look beautiful." He says to me as I shut the door again and open my eyes. I look at Carmen, Maggie, Megan and Meredith again "Alright let's get married" I laugh a bit and walk over to my dress.

I have started showing early on and have a bump in my dress but luckily it fits. I look in the mirror and smile.

Carmen smiles , "You look so pretty mom. Dad is definitely going to cry."

Megan laughs as she is fixing my hair, "it does not take much to make my brother cry. You are also a soft spot for him so he will definitely be crying."
