Part 26

January 6th, FINALLY GENDER REVEAL (also side note, don't worry after this chapter, and one more important one I am going to time jump to the baby being born so we can finally have this family of 4)

Amelia's POV:

I sit down on the hospital bed while Arizona puts the gel on me. Owen can't be here cause he is in surgery, but we are waiting for him to get out to do the reveal. I have no idea what Megan and Carmen are doing to reveal I just know they are in charge of it.

Arizona smiles, "Are you excited?"

I nod, "Yes I can't wait to know, I know Owen is excited too. He is so happy for this baby. He's already an amazing dad to Carmen. I'm just so excited to see him with a little baby."

Arizona turns the screen away from me, "I am turning this away only because I know you are a doctor and might be able to tell the gender yourself and that's not allowed." She laughs and I nod. "But I also heard you guys are officially adopting Carmen next week. That's awesome!"

"Yeah we are excited about that too. It's taken us longer than we wanted to to get everything figured out with that but all that matters is that soon it will be real." I smile as I also hear Blake's heartbeat.

"So Blake looks healthy. Everything is developing good, their weight is also good. Gotten much better since you've been doing better with the HG! I'm going to hand the gender over to Megan and Carmen in the waiting room. And then I'll see you this afternoon at your party!" She starts cleaning me up then I stand back up and walk out of the room.

Owen and I walk into the attending's lounge where we were told the party was going to be. Carmen is sitting in there by herself. "Hey what's happening?" I ask her as Owen rubs my back when we are standing there.

"Just follow me" She smiles and walks in front of us.

"Do you know what it is?" Owen asks her as she is leading us down the hallway.

I watch her shake her head, "no I don't. I just helped set up. Only one that knows is Aunt Megan. I wanted to be surprised with you guys."

We walk outside and see a bunch of balloons set up and all of our friends waiting for us. Owen's mom is there too. Megan comes up to us first, "So we had to do this outside because it's gonna get messy!"

"Oh God" I laugh.

"Meg we gotta see patients after this we can't be a mess" Owen says to her.

She shakes her head, "no no there is just gonna be confetti everywhere and Chief Webber didn't want the attendings lounge to be covered in confetti. So here take these. You just like turn them and a bunch of confetti will pop out. Blue is for a boy, pink is for a girl." She hands both of us a confetti blaster. I give Carmen my phone to record us opening them.

Owen and I walk over to the front of everyone and look at each other, "Are you ready?" He asks me.

I smile, "I'm nervous but yes" We both laugh.

Everyone counts down from 5... "5, 4, 3, 2...." On "1" Owen and I turn the bottles and pink confetti goes everywhere. I drop it on the ground and start crying. I hug Owen and he smiles at me, "We are having a girl!" I say to him with tears in my eyes.

He smiles big, "Little Blake is a girl!" Everyone is clapping for us and Carmen comes over and hugs us too.

Owen looks at us, "I am going to be severely out numbered but I wouldn't have it any other way."

Derek comes over and pats my back, "Congrats guys. There is also cake and stuff in the conference room so make sure you get some."

Owen's mom comes over and hugs me, "Oh Amelia I'm so happy for you guys! Owen is a major girl dad now and I'm sure he is going to love it." I smile at her.
