Owen's POV:

Amelia got called in overnight so it's just me this morning with the kids. I decide it's probably best to just tell them now and get it over with. I want to tell Blake alone because I know she will have more of a reaction. I text Amelia: Good morning. Kids and I will be in at 9. Im going to talk to them about me leaving now though. I'm doing Blake by herself. I hope you got some sleep after the emergency surgery, love you 😘

I put my phone down on the bed and walk into Blake's room. She's surprisingly already awake and looking at a picture book. "Good morning!" I smile at her.

"Hi Daddy! Where is mommy?" She asks as she puts her book down and climbs out to hug me. I pick her up and sit down on the chair holding her in my lap, "mommy got called into work. Maybe we will see her when I drop you off at the daycare."

She nods, "I hope so cause I want a mommy hug."

I laugh, "mommy does give good hugs doesn't she?"

She smiles, "Yep so do you daddy" she wraps her arms around my neck and hugs me again.

I kiss the top of her head, "Blake I need to talk to about something. This is a pretty important thing alright?"

She nods so I continue, "In a few weeks I'm going to be gone for a little while, it'll be for 7 weeks."

She looks at me confused, "but where will you be?"

"I have to go do my other job. Mommy will be here though. And I will be here for your first day of preschool."

"I won't see you at all? Not even at bedtime." She asks. I can tell in her voice that she's starting to get upset and I rub her back, "No baby. I won't be here. But listen I can call mommy every so often and talk to you guys."

She starts crying and holds onto me tightly, "You can't leave"

I sigh, "I love you so much Blake. I will come back I promise you that. And hey, we still have time before I have to leave. I can play all the games with you, read all the books, play dress up, tea parties, anything you want baby."

She nods and I give her a tissue to wipe her face, "I'll be brave daddy. When you are not here,"

"I knew you would." I kiss her forehead and fix her hair, "you have to get ready for daycare though. What do you wanna wear today?"

"I want to stay with you daddy." She says holding onto my shirt.  I sigh and stand up with her, "I have to work at the hospital. How about later after dinner you, me, and mommy go for ice cream? Carmen will stay here with the boys."

"Okay" She says still kind of sad. I pick her out some clothes and help her get dressed. She heads downstairs to wait for me. I walk into the boys room and get them up. I'm going to wait to tell them until sooner to when I leave, they won't understand much of it anyways. I don't want to confuse them by telling them now.

Amelia likes when the boys have matching outfits, cause she finds it fun to confuse people. So I put them in matching shirts with sharks on it. It is easy for us to tell them apart because we are their parents but even Megan gets confused when Amelia dresses them the same. I put Daniel in black crocs and Logan in blue ones to help some people.

Amelia's POV:

I see Owen and the kids coming down the hall so I crouch down and hold my arms out. Logan, Daniel, and Blake all run towards me and hug me. I kiss all of their heads, "Hi my babies"
