Nat is the team's glue

Natasha POV:

When I wandered into the kitchen, I found most of the team, excepting Tony (who was passed out from caffeine overload), freaking out. A quick look around brought the conclusion that this was because of the definite absence of Sophie.

First things first, look around for clues. In the process, I saw the fluttering edge of the paper towel roll. There was marker on it. Striding over, I ripped the note off and read it.

Went to Little Explorers Montessouri, I'll be back by 2:45. Yes, I have Mace. Sorry I had to dash, I completely forgot that I had promised to help set up the new learning system today!- Sophie

I whistled sharply to get the group's attention, then held up the note. My god, these imbeciles wouldn't be able to function if I wasn't here.

Sophie POV:

I woke up fairly early, and I knew just by looking around that someone had placed me on the bed. I had never gotten to making the nap hole the night before, so there were still plenty of blankets.

I stood, then entered the bathroom to change into an everyday outfit. First things first, open up the weird parallel dimension, the one with all my stuff. I picked out a cute outfit that I knew would fit the dress code while still being comfortable, found the clean backpack full of supplies, and got ready to leap out the door. (A/N Outfit below, all of these are real, I put together the spread)

I went to prepare a breakfast to-go, a lunch, and a note to ensure there would be no mass panic if either of my new dads woke up and noticed my absence

I had enrolled myself in the school a few months ago, and it was actually nice. I could learn at my own pace and enjoy myself. Metro card swiped, I boarded the train and sent a quick message to Shuri.

SweetSoph: If you're awake to get this notification, GO TO BED, SHURS

SassyGirl: Aww.

Do I hafta?

SweetSoph: If you want me to call you later, yes it is.

You know that you collapse if you're up so late this many times in a row

SassyGirl: Um, hypocrite!

You were awake obscenely early when we first met

SweetSoph: In my defense, my sister had the flu

And her viral discharge was loud

SassyGirl: And all the late night calls where you fell asleep?

SweetSoph: Please sleep, Shurs? I'm a bit worried about you.

SassyGirl: Okay, I can't resist those puppy eyes, even if I don't see them

Remember earbuds, so your little ears don't her even more dirty

And make a list of the creeps so I can vaporize them

SweetSoph: OH! Its my stop

AND GO TO BED LOVE YOU BYE

Smiling, I jumped out of the doors, popping in my earbuds to drown out the thoughts just like Shuri asked. I was so nervous when I told her, but instead of being offended or hating me for not telling her sooner, she understood. She actually understood.

And acted all momma bird.

Seriously.

I had an ID card clipped into the pocket of my hoodie, a mini distress call keychain, a first aid kit, an emergency blanket, and one of those little cans of super advanced mace in one of my water bottle pockets. When I opened the door, I waved to the person at the desk.

There was a designated spot for protective measures to be placed, and I used a piece of tape to mark my mace just like every day before heading in. One of the safety measures, since it's not safe to travel in New York without some sort of weapon. (A/N this is not exactly a Montessouri, I changed it to my story. Still, these schools are very cool and you should look into them!)

Smiling, I turned to the box on the table and began to figure out the VR tech that had been donated and left in a warehouse corner by the technologically impaired and time constrained teachers, who have no time to mess around with this stuff. Good for me, because I need random challenges to keep me busy.

I know I could get into any college, but I don't want any more attention than I already have. Besides, the extra time I have lets me learn all sorts of crazy things that I wouldn't normally know.

After what felt like an hour but was probably three, I stood and headed over to the temporarily empty dojo. I signed my name on the board and turned the music up, glad nobody could see me as I worked on my dancelike fighting moves.

Somehow, the actions make me feel freer than ever, unrestricted. It's nice.

The bell for lunch rang, and I rubbed my name away before spinning over to my backpack and plucking my lunch bag away from it, tucking the strap in my mouth and judging the space I have.

The younger kids knew what I was about to do, meaning that I had a clear space. I ran a short way, then did a no-handed cartwheel. When I landed, I moved to sit on a ledge, smiling as the little kids broke into excited chatter.

It was nice to watch their happiness. One little girl asked if she could braid my hair, and I had no qualms, so she was pulling on my head sporadically (uncomfortable, but the girl was good with hair, so I tolerated it).

The food was pretty good, and I was hungry, so it went quickly. Pulling out a sketchpad, I began to mindlessly detail, shading with my pencil in certain spots and barely skimming the paper in others.

Looking down at my paper, I suppressed a gasp. A design for... a hero costume? Hiding it from outside view, I pondered what this meant.

So. Yesh, Sophie is a superhero. And there is a bit of fluff here, so I'm happy with how this turned out.

Ideas for hero name?

I'm trying to break this away from the cliche Moonlark thing because it's really long to type Moonlark 10000 times. (exaggerated a little)

Bye guys!
