Sophie:

I blame the magic of tempting fate.

That's why, after two and a half weeks of being fine and warm, I was silently cursing my words to Shuri. Why did I do that?

I had fallen asleep on patrol, and some random drunk teens decided to bury me in fRICKEN SNOW. At least they didn't pee on it or anything. It could have been a lot worse.

Anyways, skip to now, me shivering on my bed with a 104 fever, a massive headache, and a temporary drain of powers. I would text Shuri, but my phone is in my hero suit (which also explains why I can't just ask for help to get it).

As soon as I can move I have to get it.

That little rectangle may mean the difference between peace and New York burning down.

"FRIDAY?"

"Yes Little Miss Capsicle?"

" Can you tell somebody responsible that I'm sick so they can keep the rest of the team quiet? Also, restrict coffee from Tony for a week and change my nickname to Lizard starting tomorrow."

"Ok, I'll tell them. May I ask about the nickname?"

"My middle name is Elizabeth and I feel like trolling the team. Isa and Baba already know my middle name, but I'm pretty sure the rest of them don't."

Friday hummed. " Okay. And the coffee thing is a good idea- I think Mr. Stark drinks far too much to actually be alive."

I laughed, and Friday hummed away. Shivering, I snuggled into the cocoon of blankets and tried to sweat this stupid fever out of myself.

Loki:

"Sneaky Snek Lord?"

Groaning at Stark's latest stupid nickname, I asked "Yes Friday?"

" She asked me to tell you to keep the others quiet because she's sick, but I would advise that someone keep an eye on her."

"Little Snake?"

"If Little Snake is Sophie, then yes. She seems to be showing the common symptoms of a flu."

Standing up, I bookmarked my page and left my room. First stop, kitchen. When I got there, the team was about to start a ruckus.

"If any of you so much as make a single noise above the one you would use in front of a sleeping cat, I will use you for target practice."

"Target practice?" Pietro asked.

"Yes. I'm sure someone has told you about Sophie. She has a flu and therefore requested everyone keep their noise down. Steve, Bucky, Nat, Wanda, we can take turns looking after the sick child, looking after the grown adults who need supervision, and doing our daily tasks."

"Sounds good," Steve said. " I'll bring her something easy enough to eat. Friday, keep an eye on her symptoms and report to one of us if anything gets worse."

"Ok 100 year nap."

"Seriously Stark?

"I will see if I can find any Asgardian remedies to make this flu last shorter."

"Alright, see you later Loki." Nat stalked off to perch in a corner, glowering down at the team to keep them quiet in my absence.

As I stepped onto the Bifrost, I squinted against the bright light. Really, whose bright idea was this? The ONE thing that was actually true, and it HAD to be the rainbow light bridge. AND the fact that the imbecilic mortals thought he had children?

I am asexual and SINGLE, millipedic organisms!

Making my way to the palace healers, I absolutely was not going any faster than I usually went. When I made it into the medic wing, Mother was there wrapping bandages with the nurses, chatting about the latest gossip.

"Mother!"

"Loki? Why are you back so soon?"

"When I went back to the tower, I learned that the Captain has a daughter around the age of sixteen and the size of a small Asgardian eight year old. It is very snowy in the Midgard city, and the child has fallen sick. Her fever is rather high, and I came to see if there was anything worth doing for it."

When Mother smiled knowingly, I buckled in for whatever she was about to say- I knew it would not be without at least a little bit of teasing.

Loki being cute and caring about Sophie? Yes please.

(Also, headcannon that MCU Loki is a single pringle not really looking for relationships- ALEX SAMIRAH I STILL LOVE YOU EVEN THOUGH YOU AND YOUR SIBLINGS DONT EXIST IN THIS STORY)

-_-  not much to say except Happy Holidays to anyone who is celebrating around this time!
