Bucky POV:

Our daughter has a girlfriend.

Who just so happens to be the next Black Panther.

Now that I understood this was Shuri, it made sense that she would attack us trying to save Sophie. It was honestly refreshing- even if I couldn't protect Sophie she would have someone to care for her.

Shuri had her chin on Sophie's head, them being adorably cuddly lesbians while Tony tries to connect with T'challa.

"Stark, I hope you have an incredibly good reason for this, because I'm currently extremely busy with something important."

"I think I found something that belongs to you, oh king of the cats."

Shuri lifted her head slightly, calling out "Hello brother."

"Shuri? Is that where you went? I guess I can stop looking."

"My girlfriend went dark in the Avengers tower. I thought they kidnapped her. I'm not sorry at all."

"Girlfriend? Kidnapped by- I'm not even going to try to do this over a call. I'll be there as soon as possible. Keep the damage down and don't leave the tower PLEASE."

And apparently he's as in the dark about this as we are.

"Um... snacks, anybody?" Clint offered, shrugging when Nat threw a glare his way.

T'challa POV:

If I knew my sister had a girlfriend, I would have checked there first. No doubt.

I even thought I knew exactly where they met, considering how Shuri disappeared and did NOT end up on the news, coming back before we had to leave again with a sad smile (and maybe a little sheen of lip gloss on her cheek, but nobody mentioned it at all).

Actually, it made almost perfect sense now- the secrecy, the worried moments, the laughing suddenly or days of smiles, holing up in her room working on some sort of supersui-

Shuri worked on a supersuit. It made sense in a way, if Shuri and her girlfriend were to become heroes together it wouldn't be the worst thing, but Shuri was so overprotective that something didn't add up.

And then it clicked.

The only way that Shuri would let her girlfriend become a hero without much longer of a time where they argued over safety would be... her girlfriend having superpowers.

Yeah, there would need to be quite an explanation for this- I didn't even know how much was going on underneath all this. The only reason it came to light was because of an illness, and I was impressed despite myself.

This was proof that my sister was, in fact, much more responsible than my mother had thought previously.

Maybe, it's time to train my sister even further. The next Black Panther, a leader in case something happens to me.

And if Mother complains about 'tradition', then maybe it's time for tradition to change.

By the time I got to the tower, I had already made up my mind. Now, to figure out what exactly happened here.
