I wasn't going to come into school today because I felt so embarrassed of what happened last night. I decided to not tell anyone just yet. Maybe tomorrow I'll tell Jade what happened, but I don't know how she'll react to me getting raped, will she even believe me.

Once I got to school, I saw Jade at her locker. The school bell rings and all the students scatter to their classes. Me and Jade where on our way to maths when we bump into the popular kid. Remi. I have had a huge crush on him since 5th grade so I hide my face as I blush.

"Sorry Remi," Jade says, avoiding eye contact.

"Watch it," he says pissed.

I pick my books up from the floor and continue walking to math class. We were a little bit late so the teacher gave us a rude look as we walk in. The class watches us stumble to our seats at the back of the class.

"I don't get what you see in him, he's the biggest jerk in the school," Jade says to me.

I think she noticed I was daydreaming. His golden skin and honey brown eyes shimmer so bright in the sunlight, and the intimidating look on his face, I can tell this boy is hiding something.

"Ok, class dismissed, do questions 3 to 6 on page 272," the teacher said as every student rushed out the class.

I saw Remi in the halls again and I gave him an awkward smile to show I'm sorry, and he smiled back. This may just be the best day of my life.

-REMI

I woke up this morning with what might have been the biggest headache I've ever experienced. Krysti's mom came into my room with a glass of water, a pain killer and a banana. She was like the mom I never had. My mom left our family when I was very young because of my father.

"Thank you, Mariam, I really appreciate you letting me stay over," I say, with a tear running down my cheek. She wipes the tear and smiles.

"No need to thank me Remi, you're like the child I near had," she joked, looking over at Krysti to see if it made her laugh.

It did "HEYYY," Krysti shouted.

"Ok kids, go get ready for school," Mariam said now with a serious tone.

I got up out of bed and went for a shower. I don't think I can ever go home, Krysti's house is so welcoming and warm. Her family loves me and I love her family. My house on the other hand...

After I was done, I went to go get dressed.

"Come down for breakfast,"

I went downstairs. A whole stack of pancakes drizzled in syrup right in the middle of the table. We each had a mug at our seats with hot chocolate which made the whole kitchen smell amazing. My mug had my name on it for when I come over. Can I please never go home.

"Wow, this is amazing thank you," I told Mariam with the biggest smile on my face.

She smiled back and gestured for me to sit down, today may not be as bad as I expected it to be. When I finished my pancaked Krysti and I left for school, she noticed how happy I was.

"What's with the smile silly,"

"Nothing I just love coming to your house I feel so welcomed there, I wish I could live with you forever," I said shyly.

She laughed, but her smile slowly faded as she realized I was being serious.

"I know it sucks but soon you'll be old enough to get your own place," she told me reassuringly.

"With what money...?"
