Chapter 20

-IVORY

I walk into first period and as I walk to my table at the back of the class, I see him in the corner of my eye. Remi is back in school. I take a quick glance over to him and stumble over the leg of the chair in front of me. Very discreet Ivory, very discreet. The whole class looks over to look at me struggle to get to my seat without making more noise, even Remi.

He has this smug smile on his face. Like he's holding back a laugh. The thought of it made me smile slightly but I hold it back. No, I can't do this, I'm supposed to be mad at him.

"If everyone could open up on page 134 of their books and we will continue reading on," the teacher calls out to the class.

I open my novel onto the page and look at the page. Taking short glances over at Remi to see if he's looking at me. Can he feel that I'm looking?

He looks back at me. Oh no, fuck. I quickly bring my gaze back to my book. Nodding my head along with the teachers words in an attempt of some bad acting. I life my head up a big to try see what he's doing now. He laughs at me quickly and turns back around. Ugh, why does he have to be so irresistible.

"Ivory, could you read on for me?" the teacher looks and points back at me.

I stare at him, lost. What do I do now? I have no clue where we stopped off. This morning couldn't get any more embarrassing. But it actually could.

"Ivory?" he repeats.

"Oh, right sorry, yeah." I look over at Jades book.

"Where are we?" I whisper to her.

"I don't know don't ask me?" she whispers back.

I drop my book on the ground.

"Oh no, silly me, I've dropped my book and now I don't know the page we are on..." I lie, clearly.

My teacher gives me an angry look.

"Ivory step outside please."

I look around the classroom. Seriously? I did nothing wrong. I stand up out of my seat and walk over to the door. Remi was staring at me, taking in every detail about my walk, about my outfit today, about my hairstyle. He could definitely tell how I was feeling too.

"Ivory, why are you acting like this? You are usually such a good student."

"Sorry sir, I've been distracted recently and-"

"By Remi?" he interrupts.

What? He noticed? I'm doomed. What do I even do now? Do I agree or do I deny it?

"Uhm, maybe, but can you blame me, look at him, after all he is my boyfriend and like we got into an argument and I was thinking what I should do, I didn't know if I should go apologize. I wanted to see if he was looking at me," I rush to explain myself, and accidentally over share.

"Ohhh, so you two are dating? I see, I see." he realizes. A smirk on his face.

"You could say that."

He walks me back into the class. Looking over at Remi. He lets me go back to my seat and Jade looks at me with eager eyes.

"What did he say?" she whispers to me.

"He knows about me and Remi now."

She laughs at me, a bit too loudly.

"Jade, quiet please, or I will have to move seats," he threatens.

I see it in his eyes that he has a plan. I know he is excited about it and it could happen any moment.

"Okkk, group work," he emphasizes.
