-IVORY

It's the night of Remis party and Im getting ready to leave. Remi is collecting me in an hour. Jade couldn't come to the party, she's minding her sister tonight. Getting ready alone is pretty dull. The music doesn't make me feel as good as it usually does.

Tonight seems off, I don't feel like partying. I just want to chill with Remi tonight.

"Hey Im at your drive way come out beautiful," he calls to tell me.

I run downstairs. Suddenly I feel more alive. The radio is on full volume. The windows fully open, the street lights bright in the night sky. I sing to the song.

Remi puts his hand on my thigh. The light goes red and as he stops he holds me tighter. I smile now as we take turns singing verses of the songs coming up.

He looks up at me.

"You look stunning today as always."

"You too my love," I smile.

He pulls over to the side of the road. I look at him.

"we gonna be late to your party?" I ask

He laughs at me.

"It'll be ok, they can wait."

He puts his hand behind my neck and he pulls me in. I look at his lips and he look at mine. We stay like this, gradually moving our lips closer together without actually touching.

I eventually pull him in the rest of the way so our lips touch. His lips are soft against mine and when we kiss I forget about everything else. For a moment I forgot we were in a car until.

"BEEEEP" the car horn goes off as I accidentally lean on the wheel. We both pull away laughing. I'm a bit embarrassed,

I tickle him to distract myself from what just happened. He laughs for a second, realization hits.

"Oh my god, the party," he shouts

"I know I was telling you."

He starts the car. I fix myself up and put down the mirror to see my hair and makeup is all messed up.

"You really didn't hesitate to mess up my hair, huh?" I tell him.

"Oops," he admits.

I take a brush out of my bag to fix it up and a lipgloss to top up my makeup.

Remi looks over at me. He smiles and keeps staring.

"Remi, the road," I exclaim.

"Its fine, its fine,"

"No look," I shout, pointing at a huge cement truck coming right towards the car.

-REMI

The radio is muffled now as blood pours out of my head. We lay there upside down in the car. The cement truck crushing our lower bodies.

"Ivory?" I whisper, barely anything came out of my mouth.

She doesn't reply. I use any last bit of energy I have to try shake her up.

"Yeah?" she eventually replies. Her eyes slowly opening to look at me.

She puts her hand on my face and laughs.

"Whats funny, we are about to die,"

"Atleast red is my favourite colour," she replies.

That's one way to try make light out of dying.

I look over at her lower body, completely smushed under the car. I hold her hand. I look her in the eye. Tears running down her check. I want to wipe them away but I cant move anymore. I feel as my body slowly looses more and more feeling.

"I love you, I promise I'll keep you safe," I tell her.

Her eyes close, her grip on my hand loosens.

I notice what happened and I couldn't help but scream.

"Ivory, please Ivory," I scream.

"Come back no, no , no , no."

This cant be happening. I knew this party was a bad idea. I should have listened when she told me to look at the road. How can I keep her same now.

"Somebody help, help please, my girlfriend is dead, and I'm dying please," I try to scream but my voice cracks and I cant speak anymore.

Red and blue lights are filling my vision, but soon, I don't see anything anymore. My focus blurs and my throat tightens.

"I promise I'll keep you safe," I cry my last words.
