It was the early hours of the morning when Matthew Taylor, or Matt, found himself waking up.

Matt was confused for a moment. He knew he wasn't home.

He was at the hospital.

The wizarding world hospital.

His entire life, Matt had to keep a secret from the rest of the world. That secret is that he's a wizard. He came from a family of wizards. His father is one and so was his mother, who had left him, Harrison and little sister, Rose.

Matt groaned when he everything came back to him and began feeling the pain from the previous night.

Matt had scratches and scars on his arms and face. They were all bandaged up. Matt noticed that he had bled through some of them.

He heard someone move beside him.

"Matty?" he heard a familiar voice say.

"Dad?"

Matt turned his head to see his father laying on chairs. He had pushed three chairs next to each other and turned his jacket into pillow so he could have something soft to lay his head on.

"Are you okay?" Harrison said, sitting up.

"Yeah, I guess," Matt said. "I'm just..."

"I know, buddy," Harrison said, placing his hand on his son's shoulder and squeezed it gently.

"When can we go home?" Matt asked.

"In a few hours," Harrison told him. "When the sun rises."

Matt groaned.

"I know, Matt," Harrison said, "I know you want to go home and you hate the hospital, but you need to stay here longer."

"How bad was last night?" Matt asked his father.

"We'll talk about it when you wake up in the morning," Harrison said.

"But -" Matt began.

"Go to bed," Harrison repeated.

"Dad -"

"Sleep," Harrison said.

Matt sighed. "Okay," he gave in.

Matt drifted back to sleep.

Harrison made sure that Matt had gone back to sleep before sleeping again on the chair.

When the sun rose again, Harrison woke up before Matt did.

One of the wizard doctors came into the run to check in on Matt and his injuries as he continued to sleep.

"How did he sleep last night?" the doctor asked Harrison.

"He woke up around three am last night," Harrison informed her. "I guess from how bad the transformation was, the pain must've woken him up."

"Yeah, seeing that he bled through some of the bandages, he must've," she agreed.

"Will he be okay?" Harrison asked, worriedly.

"Yeah, he'll be okay," she assured him. "It might take him a few extra days to heal then usual."

Harrison nodded.

"Just tell him to be careful," she added, "and to take it easy."

"Okay, I'll make sure he does," Harrison promised.

"Great," she smiled.

"Hey, um, Matt really wants to go back home," Harrison informed the doctor. "He can go home today, right?"
