Matt woke up the following morning and the feeling of dread washed over him.

He groaned and turned to his side to check the time to see it was nearly 10AM.

Ten AM? he thought. Why hasn't anyone woken me up?

He got out of bed and went to the bathroom.

He walked over to teh sink and began brushing his teeth. He looked down at the sink as he brushed his teeth, not able to bring himself to look at his own reflection.

Over the passed several months, he found it harder and harder to look himself in the mirror. His scars are just reminders... reminders of everything that went wrong in his life. He knew it wasn't his fault, but he couldn't bring himself but feel the guilt. The guilt of now stressing his family with his transformations.

He knew how much his transformation has affected his father and sister. He knew that they wished they could do more to help him. He knew how much they hated having to listen to him transform into something he absolutely hated.

"Are you okay?" Rose asked Matt.

"Hm?" Matt said, looking up.

"Are you okay?" Rose asked, worriedly.

"Oh, yeah," Matt said, forcing a smile on his face. "I'm fine. I'm... fine."

"You don't have to lie to me," Rose said. "I'm not Dad or Jack and Evan, or Alex and the Russos."

"Rose, you have nothing to worry about," Matt assured his sister. "I'm fine... really."

His delivery wasn't convincing.

Rose got up from the dining table.

"I'll see you later, Matt," she picked up her book and left the apartment.

Matt's phone vibrated.

It was his mother.

She was making sure he still wanted to go get coffee.

He sighed.

He answered her text.

Matt sat at a table with two cups of coffee in front of him. His leg shook as he patiently waited for his mother to show up. He went ahead and ordered them coffee.

He looked up to see a woman enter. She looked like what Rose would like when she's older. The woman had the same face as Rose as well as the same shade of blonde hair as Rose.

Matt took a deep breath as his mother glanced around the coffee shop until she spotted him.

A smile appeared on her face the moment her eyes landed on him.

She walked over to him.

"Hi, Matt," she said, smiling kindly at him.

"Hi," he said in a quiet voice.
