Supernatural [Alex Russo]

28 - Lunch

To Matt's surprise, he landed the role of Troy Bolton. He didn't think he'd land the role, but Mrs. Chase said that out of everyone who auditioned, he had the best performance. She also said that he looked a lot like Zac Efron.

"You sound like him too," Jack said on their way to Waverly Place.

"Really?" Matt said, uncertainly.

"Yes!" Jack insisted. "You look and sound just like Zac Efron! The only difference is that you have a bunch of scars."

Matt rolled his eyes at Jack as they entered the subshop.

"Who's going to play Gabriella?" Jack asked.

"Um, it's Taylor Rodriguez," Matt said.

"What about Taylor Rodriguez?" Alex asked.

Alex had gotten to Waverly Place ahead of Matt and Jack.

"Matt's co-star,"  Jack said.

"Co-star?" Alex repeated.

"I got the lead in the play," Matt said.

"You did?" Alex said, excitedly

"Yeah," Matt confirmed.

"She's going to play Gabriella?" Alex added.

"She is," he said.

"Oh," she said.

Her energy shifted as soon as Matt confirmed that Taylor Rodriguez was going to be playing the female lead in the play.

"She's... pretty," Alex said, "don't you think?"

"I guess," Matt shrugged.

Jack made a face.

"I never thought of her that way," Matt shrugged.

Max came down the stairs from the Russo's apartment.

"Hey, guys," Max greeted them.

"Hey, Max."

"Hi, Max."

"Hey."

"Hey, Matt, I heard you're in the school play," Max said. 

"Whatever it is, no," Matt said.

"But you don't know what I want."

"I know enough to know whatever you want, it'll crash and burn," Matt said.

"Matt -"

"No," Matt said. "I'm not doing it."

Max sighed.

At that moment, Taylor Rodriguez and her friends walked into the restaurant.

"Oh my God, it's Taylor Rodriguez!" Max exclaimed. 

He turned to Matt, Jack, and Alex.

"How do I look?" Max asked, freaking out. "Does my hair look good?"

Matt gave Max a look.

"Seriously?" Jack said.

Matt looked over at Taylor, who looked at him at the same time. 

Matt smiled.

Matt picked up on Taylor's feelings. It seemed like she wanted something and not just food.

She looked at him and he could sense that whatever she wanted, it had something to do with him.

He stood up.

"I'm going to talk to Taylor," Matt said.

"Tell her something good about me," Max said as Matt walked over to Taylor.
