Matt woke up the following morning, barely remembering what happened.
All he could remember was coming home and talking to his father before everything went black.
He groaned as he sat up and rubbed his forehead.
He got out of bed and got dressed before heading downstairs.
"Hey, are you okay?" Rose asked.
She was sitting at the dining table, eating breakfast.
"Yeah, I think," Matt shrugged. "Where's Dad?"
"He's down in the mechanic store," Rose told him. "He said to go down to him when you wake up."
Matt nodded.
"Do you remember what happened?"
"Barely," he said.
"What - what do you remember?"
"I just remember coming back from Jack's house and then I passed out," Matt said.
"Oh."
"Is that what happened?"
"For the most part," Rose said.
"What happened?"
"Go to Dad," Rose said.
Matt nodded.
He headed down to the mechanic store.
Harrison was down in the mechanic store, fixing a car.
He stopped when he spotted Matt enter.
"Hey," Harrison said.
"Hi, Dad," Matt said. "Rose said to come down to you."
"Yeah, yeah," Harrison said, setting the tool he was using and picked up a small hand towel and cleaned his hand. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I guess," he said. "I just feel so exhausted."
"What do you remember?"
"I just remember coming home from Jack's house and I began talking to you," Matt said. "Then everything went black."
Matt sat down.
"What did you drink or eat at Jack's party?"
"I just drank water," he said.
"Did you eat anything?"
"No," Matt shook his head.
"Did you eat anything at all yesterday?"
"Barely. I just had breakfast. And coffee."
"Huh, that must explain it," Harrison said, "partially."
"Oh, I had a pounding headache," Matt added.
Harrison sat down next to Matt.
"I guess your senses must've overloaded," Harrison said. "Everything got too much on you and since you barely ate yesterday, it got to you."
Matt nodded.
"Have you spoken to your mother?" Harrison said, completely changing the subject.
"What? No!" Matt said. "I'm not talk to her."
"Matt, she's your mother," Harrison said.
"Yeah, but she left us," Matt said. "She completely abandoned us. How do you expect me to talk to her?"
"Just talk to her," Harrison said.
"Why should I?" Matt demanded. "Why should I talk to her?"
