"I'm not saying don't date the guy. I'm just saying take it slow." Bonnie warned. "You were the one who said to go for it." Elena pointed out. "Now I'm saying take it slow." Bonnie replied. "Why the about-face?" Elena asked, concerned.
" It's not an about-face. You're single for the first time in your entire high school career. It's the perfect time to play the field." Bonnie lied. Her about-face is about the fact that she finally touched Stefan for the first time, and, like me, she got this chill. Of course she just chocked it up to womans intuition.
I usually don't go into my friends heads but it was an accident. Me and Bonnie had a sleepover last night to catch up. While I was asleep I accidently went into her head and saw what happened.
"Oh, because I'm so that girl. Seriously, what are you not saying?" Elena asked. I could tell she was getting slightly defensive. "It's stupid." Bonnie said as she looked down. "I don't think anything you ever have to say will be stupid, Bonnie." I told her trying to boost her confidence without letting her know I was in her head.
It worked. She smiled at me as Elena said "Bonnie, Spit it out." "I accidentally touched Stefan. And I got a really bad feeling." Bonnie told her truthfully. "Is that it?" Elena asked, knocking every once of confidence I had just restored out of Bonnie. She started to walk away but Elena called her name that's when she spun around "It was bad bad!" Bonnie snapped. "Is this the whole witch mojo thing again?" Wow, Elena. Way to be nice. "You know what? I'm just concerned. This is me expressing concern about my best friend's new boyfriend." Bonnie said a half-truth version of what's really going on.
"And I love you for it, I do. But I feel good. It's been a hard year, and I'm starting to kind of feel like things are getting back to normal again. And you know what? Stefan is a big part of that." Elena defended and brushed off Bonnies concern. Dumbass. I like Stefan but still. Bonnies insticts are almost never wrong.
"Good morning, Elena, Bonnie, Ari." Stefan says walking up to us. "Hey, um, I gotta find Caroline. She's not answering her phone. So I'll see you guys later." Bonnie ran off. I didn't blame her. "She doesn't like me very much." Stefan observed. "She doesn't know you. She's my best friend. She's just looking out for me. But when she does, she will love you." Elena tried reasurring him. He just nodded.
A ball came flying at his head. I didn't care because he caught it. Duh, he's a vampire. Like I said I couldn't care less, until I saw the person who threw it. Tyler Lockwood. Stefan threw the ball back. And Tyler almost fell catching it, but I felt my anger boil over.
The street lights started to burst as I tried to run at Tyler, key word 'tried'. Stefan caught me and held me back, as Tyler ran away so I wouldn't rip his head off. "Ariana, it's school. I understand what he did to you is unacceptable but you can't do this here. Control yourself." He whispered in my ear soothingly. One of the street lamps fell over luckily no one was hurt. I started to take deep, long breathes, calming myself down.
Stefan let his grip loosen and moved his hands from around my stomach to one on each shoulder. "Are you okay?" Stefan asked me. I jumped up and hugged him. He was hesitant at first but hugged back. "Yeah. I am now. Thank you." I whispered and I felt him nod. I let go of the hug, sent him one last nod telling him I'd be okay, then left for class.
STEFANS POV
I caught the ball easily. I didn't care, until I saw who threw it, knowing what was about to happen, I quickly threw the ball back, maybe a little harder then needed. But he's lucky that's all he's getting from me. I was pissed when I found out, to say the least. Damons taunting didn't help.
