(Lemon) Brother's Best Friend (Granger x Ruby)

Ruby stood in front of a tall shelf that towered her like a giant. It was filled with volumes of hardbound books and she doesn't have the slightest idea which one of them possesses the information she needs for her report. She's currently in the history and music section of the library but she's been flipping through books for hours only to find scrap information about her topic.

Her teacher assigned to her the rivalry of Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri and their individual contributions to classical music. Sure she enjoys classical music, especially when studying, but such a topic eludes her interest. So far, she only found details about Mozart, thanks to his fame, however, Salieri proves to be a hard find in their library. 

"This is gonna take me forever. It's like Salieri barely existed. Although he was rumored to be Mozart's executioner that didn't really make him any more famous for people to write books about him much less put him in many reference books."

Normally, Ruby would consult the internet first to make things more convenient but her network provider seems to be acting up so she can't expect much help from that end, leaving the school library as her primary source of information. To further her dilemma, all her friends are having their respective classes so she can't burrow their phones to connect to the internet. The only reason she has the time to browse the library is that Ms. Alice, their history teacher contracted flu so she's absent for today giving Ruby approximately 1 hour to set up a report. 

It also doesn't help that she's completely alone in the library which makes it more creepy. The librarian Miss Jameson went on a coffee break and entrusted the library in her care for the meantime since she's a frequent patron and they're fairly close. But then she couldn't shake off the scary stories her friend told her. She heard from Carmilla that there are restless spirits still roaming here making her shiver. 

"Excuse me." she nearly screamed when someone unexpectedly sneaked up on her to browse through the books from the shelf just above her head. She didn't really move away due to shock so now she's caged between the bookshelf and the person's chest. They were so close that she can already smell the fragrant cologne he wore. The scent was so manly and intoxicating making her heart skip a beat like the brittle girl she was when it comes to charismatic men. 

Anyway, she recognized him as Granger, a friend of her big brother Alucard. They don't really interact much but he smiles at her amicably from time to time when he visits their house. Granger is very reserved and doesn't really like to interact with others that much, giving her the impression that he's introverted. Nevertheless, his detached attitude didn't really hinder her from admiring his handsome face and gentlemanly behavior from time to time. 

"Ouchie!" Ruby yelped as a book fell on her head.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I was a bit clumsy." she heard Granger say as he gently rubs the spot where the book fell. A faint blush painted her cheeks pink due to the gentle contact. 

"Oh, no it's okay."

"I'll be going then." Granger said as he pulled a book from the shelf before leaving. Ruby got a brief glance at the cover of the book that he chose, making her eyes widen. Granger has taken an autobiography of Antonio Salieri's Life and Works meaning that he has what she is looking for. She ran after him and saw him taking a seat on one of the chairs around the table. 

She doesn't really know how to talk to Granger and she's shy to even glance at him because she thinks that he's so cool and all, but her desperation to get the book is much stronger. Ruby mustered her courage and took a seat in front of Granger. She knew that her voice would fail her and end with her stuttering like a fool so she opted for another approach.
