Chapter 4: Bath

"Remind me again where we're going. I've been flying for hours now. My wings are aching and I'm carrying all these dirty clothes which I should tell you is not very heavy. Not heavy at all." Dyrroth complained floating beside Ruby who only carried a nice basket filled with food. 

"Stop being a diva. It's only been 15 minutes since we started trekking. And good for you, you have wings while I have to prevent myself from tripping every five minutes because the ground is so jagged in this part of the woods." Ruby answered skipping from one stone to another. 

"Where is this river even, on the next continent?" 

"No, it's just right there." Ruby answers pointing towards the small river just a few more walks from where they are. "And I can't really go out of the country because I was cursed by my evil ex-boyfriend to be bound into this land so that I won't leave him. But in the end he was the one that bailed on me which is super ironic and now I'm trap here forever until the end of time because he was also generous to bless me with immortality, which sucks because I've tried suicide for the thousandth time to no avail. But don't worry I stopped killing myself after the first hundred years because I found a reason to live. I don't want to die a prisoner so I will live till the day that I am free and see the world before I die."

"Whoa, when did that happen? And what the fuck! I thought you were just 17. You might even be older than me." Dyrroth said in alarm. He's very surprised by the new information he's learning about his little witch being not so little any more that the laundry nearly slipped out of his hold.

"That happened a very long time ago. I don't really want to talk about it because it brings back painful memories. Anyways mind putting that by the water. I'm going to try and bargain with the water spirits to do our laundry and allow us to bathe in their waters since some dumb fuck broke my pipe now there's no water at all in my house." Ruby said squinting her eyes angrily at Dyrroth.

"Yeah who could that be?" Dyrroth mumbled before proceeding to place the basket against a boulder by the lake and sat on the rock.

The witch went near the water and took out a small blue bell from her basket. She shook it and it released a liquid sounding chime that a normal bell could never make. The water of the lake started bubbling as if something was trying to break the surface and soon enough something does. A creature entirely made out of water emerged from the surface and scrutinized the two. It had the shape of a woman with a voluptuous figure yet a simple unkind face with big raven black eyes. The creature smiled as it saw the witch, showcasing her sharp shark like teeth.

"It's a pleasure to see you again for so long my lovely little witch. What brings you here?" asked the nymph.

"No originality." Dyrroth commented making the nymph snap her attention to him, looking at him with displeasure.

"Greetings, Callisto. I am here to ask for your permission to bathe in your waters and wash my laundry, please." Ruby replied.

"And what about your demon over there is he here to dunk himself in my water as well?" Callisto questioned clearly showing distaste to the demon.

"Yes, but he can change his sex for a while. I know you said that I shouldn't bring men here but if he can temporarily be a she it will be alright, right?"

"I suppose so." Callisto crossed her arms but agreed anyways. Ruby snapped her fingers and the demon was suddenly engulfed by a bright light.

"Wait, I didn't agree to this! What are you doing little witch?" Dyrroth complained but his voice suddenly went a higher pitch. When the light faded his male features disappeared and was replaced by the softer gentle features of a woman.
