It has been a week since Ruby last saw the light of day and she's been trapped in this prison ever since. Her only means of telling the time is the nice pocket watch Diggie had given to her on her birthday. For her nourishment, Sorca, as she had learned her imprisoner's name, would deliver a horn of water and a piece of meat every sundown. If she's lucky there will also be cheese or bread along with it.
The demoness became her primary source of company when she finally caved in and spoke to her. Ruby would usually narrate to her her life on the surface and confess to her her deepest frustrations regarding Alucard and Granger and how torn she was between who among them she has a greater crush on. Sorca really wouldn't reply and only stare at the wall but once Ruby started talking about hunting and fighting the demoness became more engaged in her monologs.
Ruby's days had always been uneventful other than her occasional battles with the Abyssal vermin that had often been her only visitors. Her time was mostly spent on planning her jailbreak but finding her scythe is also a top priority due to its huge importance for her escape.
Of course other than think all day and make herself crazy, Ruby also see it fit to keep her body in top shape to properly execute her plans. Everyday when she wakes up and during sundown, she would have a routine of exercises to keep her body fit and active.
Ruby was just finishing her daily routine of curl ups while waiting for Sorca to go and deliver her meals however an unexpected demon decided to pay her a visit.
"Leave us." Dyrroth ordered to the demoness who bowed and left.
"Hello, human girl. How have you been? I'm still surprised that you're still alive. I thought that you'd be dead before your first day ends but it's wonderful that you're still alive and kicking." greeted the demon Prince cheerfully.
"Rubies are actually pretty tough gems quite near to a diamond's hardness, something like this is nothing. Anyways why are you here, your majesty?" Ruby asked coolly while carefully analyzing every action that he takes.
"I came here to give you your meal."
"My meal? Why?" she asked in confusion.
"Don't want it?" Dyrroth teased lifting the plate away from her gaze making Ruby fuzz due to hunger.
"No, no, I want it. Thank you very much." Ruby begged in desperation.
"Of course here you go." Dyrroth decided to end her torment when he satisfied himself by the cute desperation in her eyes and slid the wooden tray through her cell bars.
Ruby found a huge delicious looking roasted animal leg in her plate along with some grapes and cheese and a slice of bread. She hesitated touching the meat and looked at the prince in suspicion.
"Uhmm. I must wonder. Where did you get these and where is Sorca getting my meals? Also is this meat... a demon?"
"Don't be too cynical of your food. If you must know they're portions of mine. I cut them off from my own food and order your guard to bring them to you. I'm being very generous so you should be grateful, human girl."
"Of course, of course, you're so kind and mighty great prince." she praised making the prince smile in flattery. Ruby grabbed the meat and started digging in due to hunger. Her eyes nearly rolled in the back of her head as it's savory taste invaded her senses.
"So how is the Abyss so far? Liking your stay?" Dyrroth asked sarcastically.
"It's awful. I just got here and now I'm already in prison. Well that's probably self explanatory since I'm basically your enemy. But what are my grandparents going to say? Their only daughter in prison at age eighteen." Ruby complained light-heartedly making the prince chuckle.
